Honestly, I hated Atma farming. And once I'd finally done it and then got my first book only to find that I had to wait around on more fates and redo dungeons I hated (yet again), I decided I couldn't be bothered. I'd rather fate grind for leveling my other classes than bugger around with this bollocks again. So it's been moved to the last thing I want to do on my "to do" list.

I wish more people would do it in FATES instead of dragging a group down wearing 10 white items which are not for the class they actually play.

I've been buying npc gear and running around blue fog with my bird killing everything. With a potion you can from spirit bond from 0-100 in 15 minutes or less. Make most or all your money back selling the ones you don't want.

I really don't get why they failed with Atma so badly, when XI did it so well...

They really should have made Atma FATE farming more like Currency farming in Dynamis; There is a very low chance an Atma can drop, but there is a very high chance Atma Shards can drop. X Shards = 1 Atma. That way, you still have a sense of progression while farming Atma.

Desynth might yeild materia so there's some hope for the costly materia grind for novus.

Yea, after looking over all the various types of ways to get materia for Novus, I'm just going to wait until 2.3 and hope that we can get materia from desynthing.
