More puzzles in dungeons! HARD 4-man content!

    Please?

I'd love to see more dungeons with puzzles involved. I know that with puzzles there's the issue that once they're figured out, everyone is just going to be able to show/tell other players and it's going to become trivialized. How about randomized puzzles? I know that we have some already with a few possible variations but how about puzzles with several variations? How about boss fights with puzzles being a major mechanic to defeating them? I don't know, being an RPG fan I have a yearning for puzzles in my dungeons. I just think it helps to immerse you in the feeling that you're actually traversing a dungeon.

I'd also love to see actual challenging 4-man content, and no, I'm not referring to the current "hard" mode versions of dungeons. I mean legitimately challenging 4-man content, which I feel this game is currently lacking.

I've noticed that a lot of MMO players seem to neglect the possibility of difficult content focused around small groups and often request groups be made larger. I find that smaller groups are more ideal and are easier to organize due to having less spots to fill. The group size being smaller does not in any way make the content less challenging either. I'd say that having less players actually limits your room for error even more.

Anyway, not sure what else to say. It's just an idea I wanted to get out there. Thanks to anyone who reads this and/or comments with ideas and/or opinions!

The only dungeon that uses puzzles is Sunken Temple of Qarn. I was in love with that dungeon when I did it for the first time! I was also expecting a hard mode of said dungeon with more puzzles and that kind of stuff.

SE add something harder for people that enjoy challenges and then your avarege player will decide that if the content is there and he is paying a sub then that piece of content should be for him too, then he will wipe and wipe and give up and soon enough he will come to the forums to claim SE cater to the non-lifer and it's destroying his enjoyment of the game he is paying the zomg budget-breaker $15/month.

No, challanges are not welcome. Would be sweet, but wouldn't last.

Challenging 4 man content is a good idea since making a four person pty is far easier than 8 people and is easier to coordinate allowing SE to make the content far more challenging than 8 man content.

I support more puzzles! Platforming, weird debuffs... if they could implement FFXIII-2's puzzles in a dungeon I wouldn't do anything else! I loved those.

I feel like PS was a pretty good indicator of where they developers and players want the dungeon content to be, and that's simply 'easy'. While I agree you I'm not going to live in denial. People in this game can't handle hard dungeon content and simply give up when faced with it. They just want badges in exchange for time invested. The only challenge is seeing how much of the dungeon you can pull to the boss barrier.

Well if the reward was worth the difficulty. Pre-nerf Pharos had a nice flavor for the HM dungeons but the reward was not worth it at all. I'm sure even unique titles, minions, extra tomes etc would have been fine. One quick implementation would be to give the pty a choice to sync down to the required ilvl and in turn they will receive additional rewards. This would at least force the pty members to perform the mechanics which can be easily blown through with high ilvls.

Eh I think for every unique thing you put into an incentivive a hard dungeon you'd have even more people clamoring for a nerf. Though who knows. It'd be nice to see some actual 'hard modes' (4 hard men) implemented. Maybe just put in vanity gear. I felt like early WoW Cataclysm dungeons hit a good stride with difficulty where things were pretty intense but not too bad.

I could definitely get on board with some very difficult Light Party dungeon crawls (Much more difficult than original Pharos) that drop i95 or i100 armor. Make them take a legitimate 90 minutes to complete and add some rather high risk of failure if you let it drop i100 gear. No until you finish the dungeon, then you would get:

    - 100% chance of 1 i100 accessory
    - 100% chance of 1 i100 armor piece
    - 50% chance of 1 level IV materia
    - 20% chance of one Oil of Time
    - 20% chance of one Sand of Time
    - 5% chance on of one Unidentified Allagan Tomestone

    No Myth or Sol.
