Private Rooms and One Per Estate Items

Does anyone know if the 'one per estate' items apply to private rooms? There are a few items with this tag I would like to put in my room, but I do not want to lock out the FC from ever using these (Or anyone else in their private rooms). Or will they not be able to be placed in private rooms at all.

Agreed I posted the same elsewhere and just saw this one too. Technically (as in how the code sees it) is our room seem as part of the Estate, or just a door to a different instance. I imagine the same door / "portal" would be needed for the various players so that we don't have walls and walls of doors.

I'm surprised that this isn't a separate instance that could be decoupled from a particular FC house and moved to another. I'm not an FC hopper but with the variety of stories I've heard, enabling a clean break is in everybody's favor. Otherwise, things like- a person leaving on bad terms with unique items (only 1 allowed on estate and can't remove without losing) would have no incentive not to just leave it in their room and complicate things). Maybe the interior would look different if moving from one house type to another, but based on how rarely I transfer I would be fine paying gil for a 'moving company' to convert my couches and other items back into the small square inventory items you use to launch them with, and just made them binding. That way the private room ownership and everything in it can go.

You can only have one in your room but it's a separate counter from the estate. I'm pretty sure that they specifically stated this during the live letter where they announced some of the personal room details.

I'm leaning towards it not being allowed in private rooms. Furnishing items will probably get a new tag on the description that states they cannot be used in private rooms. It doesn't seem very likely they'd allow us free reign so easily.

Did they? I guess I never paid very much attention to that part.

    Found and quoted from LLXV:

Q: Will private chambers have access to all furnishings available for the free company house?
A: Yes, they will, so you'll be able to place a vortex couch or other rare furnishings in your private chambers. However, it won't be possible to use garden furnishings. Your private chamber is a room and doesn't have a garden, so naturally you won't be able to use them, but you'll have access to anything that can be used indoors.

Today's patch 2.3 preview offers a peek into private chambers, a new way of adding a personal touch to free company estates.

    Requirements for Private Chambers
Before purchasing private chambers, players must first attain level 50 with at least one class. Furthermore, players must have attained the rank of second lieutenant in the Maelstrom, the Order of the Twin Adder, or the Immortal Flames.
    * The size of private chambers is the same regardless of estate size.
    * All estates are allowed up to 512 private chambers.

    Pricing for Private Chambers
    300,000gil

    Settings for Private Chambers
Just like with estate settings, players will have the option to change their room name, edit the greeting for their room, and grant access to other players.

    Interior Decorating
Players can customize the interior walls, flooring, and ceiling light of their private chambers.

    Furnishings
Players can place up to 50 furnishings in private chambers, with the ability to choose from among all furnishings available in the estate.

Placing a furnishing in private chambers will bind it to you, preventing future trade or sale to other players. Moreover, certain furnishings cannot be retrieved once placed, and will be permanently discarded upon removal.
    * Certain furnishings including vendor NPCs and crafting facilities can only be used by the private chamber's owner.
    * Depending on server conditions, the number of furnishings permitted in private chambers may be adjusted in a future update.

    Vacating Private Chambers
Players must be on free company property in order to vacate their private chambers. Moreover, private chambers must be vacated in order to leave a free company.
    * Gil used to purchase private chambers will not be refunded.
    * All furnishings must be removed before vacating private chambers.
