[dev1099] How do we see the nodes?

In the current patch notes for 1.18 it states that:
•[dev1099] A record of all previously visited gathering points is now saved for each Disciple of the Land class.

There is a post on the General Discussion about this that people have not answered so I thought I would try in the Gathering section of the forums. If anyone has an ides on how to activate this can you please let me know. Been trying for a few days now, and can't seem to get it to work.

    Thank you

It means that the use of three nodes of either gather class that would reset the first node no longer is possible. Now you have to do three mining nodes, three botany nodes, or three fishing nodes for the first to reset respectively.

Ugh, this is absolutely horrible. One of the only ways to make gather grinding bearable was to mix in a node from another class so you didn't have to travel a mile between nodes. So in exchange for our SP buff we now get to play "Running Around Mindlessy: The Game". Thanks, SE, really, what an awesome fix. The DoH/DoW/DoM SP buffs didn't come with any kind of "catch", so why this? I know this sounds overly snarky but combined with them dropping more aggro mobs right on top of our nodes, even for leves, it seems like nobody at SE even plays a DoL class.

This is of course very irritating when your main focus is SP skillup and you havent got the locate ability yet. Still, with some memorizing it isn't that bad actually.

But atm the major problem imo is also the fact that you cannot reach many of the mining and botany nodes (lest complete field leves) at Treespeak, Iron Lake, and Halatali. There are packs of aggro mobs around many of the nodes that were introduced in patch 1.18. Big big slap in the face to peaceful gatherers...

Actually they did. In Grid, for example, I now have to run/port myself to every end of the shroud in order to get my DoH sp from leves.

The DoW can no longer fail the same set of leves endlessly if they want their sp.

    The catches are there.

Still feel for the Grade 5 DoL's that are largely locked out of their nodes by hordes of mobs with no acceptable way of dealing with it though.

Just give it time, while it might suck now the change does make sense since if I"m reading this right a person of low rank gathering could just switch real quick, get their 1 attempt from a rank 5 node and it would count towards the 3 node setup. If you think of it in that context it does feel like an exploit so the change does make sense. Though i do agree that with the odd arrangement of new mobs and even mobs that go as high as lv 99, you would think that they would give us some sneaking abilities. It also hurts that mobs no long have a period of investigation before assaulting us and straight up aggro now.

For Botanist I'm guessing the aggro mobs aren't of the seedkin type or perhaps they are and the Seedkin Eluder isn't potent enough to be at any use if the 10 min recast is right lol. I think something that could work for gatherers though is perhaps a pep cost "sneak ward" basically there could be one for each rank such as the region based one
    Activate MP:Perp Cost
    LL Eluder I-V:----5-30------:5-30
    Grida Eluder I-V:-
    Ulda Eluder I-V:--

And then the more defined one like seedkin eluder and such could be
Seedkin Eluder-30 MP, 5 perp cost

Basically you can only have one eluder effect active at a time, you deactivate it by using the spell again and the more defined ones are a lot easier on the MP compared to the region based ones in which you consider it as those gathering classes have knowledge of the reason in which their guild is based on so as they progress they learn how to avoid creatures in said area. But of course the I-V would work like
1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40 and 41-50 mob level, so perhaps at level 50 there would be VI eluder for 51-60 lol. Of course the idea as a whole does need tweaks but I am curious to see how they allow gatherers to have a safer time gathering now that they've added a wide range of high level mobs into the game lol.

You know as a quick fix though I think it wouldn't be to much of a pain if they added a "guardian aspect" for gatherers where you use 1 point to add a "protection ward" to your character so that no mobs will attempt to engage you until they add in the sneaking aspect to the class and it would last til the end of the leve. You would also be able to use both aspects it's just until the fix is made you'd be using 11 GA a leve rather then 10 lol.
