lol what I meant was, the guy I bummped into on FFXIV use to live with me 15 years ago IRL. Not the game had launched 15 years ago o. o my bad, punctuation matters.
Lets eat kids.
Lets eat, kids.![]()
I used to play FFXI and met my LS leader and one of his sons in West Virginia, also met another guy who played FFXI on the same server and lived in the same area. Met a girl on FFXI, she flew down for a visit. I did encounter someone once who played on the same server that I did but I had already quit. I was working at Best Buy at the time and he came in shopping, we got talking about gaming and one thing led to another.
I met a girl from Maryland on WoW in a random dungeon who had a name from a favorite TV series. We ran some more dungeons and she invited me to switch to her server, which I did. We started dating long distance shortly after and she visited once and I visited a couple times and it just didn't work out.
Met a friend I made in FFXI in Little Rock, and by that point we were both playing WoW with several of his friends and I flew over there and we all hung out and had dinner. Been over there a couple times, in fact. Always a fun trip.
A girl in one of my guilds on WoW knew a girl I am friends with here in my town, and it was brought to light thanks to Facebook showing us all as mutual friends. It was kinda crazy, she was like "OMG how do ya'll know each other??"
This wasn't in person, but a woman from my LS on FFXI just happened to be running past me on FFXIV Ultros server during one of the 2.0 beta testing phases, and once I confirmed it was her we kept in touch and when the game opened up we all linked up with each other and formed our Free Company that we still have going. She actually met her husband on FFXI in the same LS.
I may have met others, but they escape my memory at this moment.

I once cosplayed as FFXIV WHM to a convention. Some guy came up to me and told me 'scholars are better'.We became good friends after that. I also saw some dude break into the Manderville while we were playing a tabletop game and my jaw just dropped... one, because he did it... and two, because I recognized it. Hilarious.
I haven't met any other FFXIV players yet... although I do have a funny story from FFXI: I was in a static leveling party for several months. I was dating a guy who also played the game at the time. One day, he was chatting with the samurai from my static leveling party and realized that the samurai lived literally five minutes away from me. We had been playing in a static for months and had no idea! So, we scheduled a day to meet up at a local mall (playing it safe of course) and became friends IRL.
But, the real kicker to this story is the two friends he brought to the meetup with him. I didn't know either of them very well, but I remembered distinctly NOT liking one of them due to our interactions in the game. He apparently felt the same way about me (thought I was a jerk). But, when we met, we both realized we actually did get along great, and admitted that our previous judgments of each other were way off. I am still friends with that person (the one I thought I didn't like) to this day, about eight years later... in fact, we are closer friends than any other person I met through FFXI. It's funny how you can get one impression about someone over the internet, but get along really well with them in person. I try to remember this whenever I have some sort of online conflict with someone.
I met my boyfriend playing WoW. Judge me all you want, but I think the reason we got along so well is the fact that we both loved FFXI a LOT MORE and spoke about it all the time... even went back to play that game together before FFXIV came out. Now we play FFXIV together and have lived together for four years. *shrug*

These threads with these romantic stories drive me into a jealous, depressive spiral. I really should avoid them, I know.
That's usually what they end up turning into.
Especially that one with the business trip. And the hotel.
And the f$#%@ing.
But why get all depressed about it? Don't worry about what someone else has and work on what you have.
2 of my coworker used to play FFXIV but they said WOW is better and stop talking of game with me cos i don't want to play WOW .. lol ain't a waste :P
My brother and my little brother play too but now they both need better PCs lol
So for now i play alone
My wife will play too in future but on PS4 with keyboard and mouseWe can't wait for wedding things :P just for the "why 2 wedding when you can marry 3 time" :P we got married 2 time canadian style(in canada) and korean style(In korea) ^^ so 3rd one in FF14

If it makes you feel any better, even though I said I met my husband earlier through XI, before that I also had my only other online relationship with someone who was the worst person I ever met, and potentially borderline a pedo since I was only barely legal and he turned out to be 40.
