Not FFXIV. But FFXI,
I started FFXI because of RL friend. Played for about 2 years, Met a friend IG, RL drama happened. IG friend stood by me, was in a car crash couldn't walk for 9 months current boyfriend left me, IG friend still talked to me.

1 years later we visited a few times. Talked on the phone/skype everyday.

Another 3 years later we few visits a few more time and finally got married.

Just 2 weeks ago immigration paper finalized.

I had the weirdest one a while back.

I went out to dinner with my family, sat at a restaurant and there was a table of 6 people right behind us talking about what they were going to do on the game and were talking about the characters they made and the starting towns. One of them was even proudly proclaiming to the others that he had finally gotten some nice chocobo barding. I could have said something, but i just sat there in shock and just stared at them awkwardly.

I met my boyfriend on FFXIV.
I use to live in florida, he in Mississippi. Moved two months ago so we could be closer.
XD It's pretty weird.

My girlfriend and I met playiing Final Fantasy XI and we've been living together for five years now! It was so awesome and natural for us. I hope it works out for you!

Met a Locke (FFVI) cosplayer at Ohayocon this year, spent probably a good two hours or so talking with him, a Celes, and a mutual friend, finally finding out after a while that not only did he also play XIV, we were on the same server. The mutual excitement as we started babbling away about the game, leaving the others behind...it was great, haha. Wonder if he still plays.
