Players Met IRL!

I knew a bunch of ppl from FFXI for a long time. We didn't talk or see each other's photo until 5th year that we decided to go to PAX Prime (Seattle) together @ 2010. They all know each other since very little. They were neighbors and some went to same elementary, high school and university together.

I've never been to Seattle before. Good thing it's a much friendly airport than LAX that I can just take the light rail to the downtown. However, it was still very confusing and scary to find the road to the hotel. When I arrived my hotel, I called one of them. He told me they were about to eat, I should go find them at the hotel's restaurant.
I put down my stuffs, changed clothes and brought my camera. It took forever for the elevator to come since it was a huge event as always. Finally, I got into one elevator, but one big problem came into my mind..."I don't know what were they look like!? =.=" my phone was extremely crappy and hard to get one bar signal too... Then, many bunch of ppl came in each floors. I heard one bunch of them said
A: "Do you know what he looks like?"
B: "no"
C: "so he will meet us down there?"
B: "he said he is coming down."


I just start to stare at these ppl and /think cus the B's voice sounds familiar that I heard from phone one time.
They probably felt the weird keen eyes and /think x 4 (there was another D).
that's how we met IRL.

There are more ff14 "/shocked :O I wanna see you drunk!!! /laugh" IRL met story tho =.= ppl are meanies J/K :P

I haven't met anyone from XIV irl yet, but I met my husband in XI. He was in the very first LS I joined on my first day of playing, but it wasnt until a year later that we started getting along (up until then I hadnt been that fond of him lol), and it ended up with him flying overseas to marry me. Now we run an FC together in XIV

I met my boyfriend on FFXIV.
I use to live in florida, he in Mississippi. Moved two months ago so we could be closer.
XD It's pretty weird.

I met my boyfriend on FFXI ^_^ we've been together IRL for 4 years now.

I also bumped into an old foster brother on FFXIV that use to live with me IRL about 15 years ago, back when FFXIV 1.0 just launched.
His name caught my eye and made me think of my home island/state (Maui,Hawai'i)

him: nah I played 11 too

I've met a total of 7 players so far. I originally met all 7 in a previous ps3 game (white knight chronicles) and we all came over to FF14 in the betas. I've socialized a lot with all of them, in and out of games. When travels brought us close together, then arrangements were made to meet up! Since gaming is a common activity of course there was plenty of talk in that department, but it sure wasn't the only thing.

Really, meeting up with everybody felt no different than hanging out with my "real life" local buds. Just now when we game together, I envision the real person behind the character.
