    bard silence tips please :)

Sooo I recently completed the story and got my zenith weapon. And I'm running crystal tower a lot and figured out when I should silence in CT but I eventually wanna do T1 and was hoping to get some tips on how to tell when it's my duty to silence in other dungeons/raids. And just some basic tips on how to master blunt arrow Thankss

In T1 you will have to silence "High voltage" of the ADS

For silencing High Voltage in Turn 1 and Turn 2 you'll need two classes with silence to cover them all. Just coordinate with your other silence class which of you will take the first silence, then just alternate back and forth.

There aren't a lot of other times you'll have to worry about silence, so in most cases you'll just want to use Blunt Arrow as extra DPS filler in between your global cooldowns every time it's up.

Rather than read and memorize a laundry list of situations in which you may be expected to silence, you should begin to familiarize yourself with what the game considers spells. Stoneskin, paralyze, etc. When you encounter a new situation, ask others in your group and use trial & error. There are many times where you won't be expected to silence but it may help; there are perhaps more situations where focusing too much on silencing something fairly inconsequential will just be detrimental to your DPS and by extension your group's efficiency.

In T1, can't a MNK do it all with Arm of the Destroyer?

Yes, but it's a severe DPS loss for the MNK -- much moreso than holding Spirits Within/Blunt Arrow -- which means a severe DPS loss for the group.

Also, silence the 'ram's voice' in relic/trial version of chimera. Tanks do their best to stun it, but having a brd watch it helps.

Also, you can make a focus target macro for your silence:

    /micon "Blunt Arrow"
    /ac "Blunt Arrow" <f>
    /p Silenced <f>!

You need to set the silence target as your focus target (shift+F) for the macro to work, but it allows you to change your main target for rotating DoTs, killing adds etc. in situations where that's needed. The macro will use Blunt Arrow on your focus target no matter what you have targeted at the moment and then tell your party you've done your silence turn and someone else is next.

Please don't use this macro when you're using blunt as a normal attack.
