Maybe with the conversion to PLD the MP pool will get an increase. Also with gear and over time it should smooth out some. I don't think cure are 100% necessary, but there's always Stygian Spikes.

Umm, that would be horrible. If a player wants MP pool increased, they should add to MND like everyone else. No need to change a solid game dynamic by voiding the stat just because you do not wish to put points into it.

Not sure exactly what you mean by changing a solid game mechanic. Paladin would naturally have a larger MP pool anyway, no? I was just thinking what may happen when they allow the change to paladin from gladiator, it was confirmed iirc. Also allotting points into MND is all fine and well and I wasn't saying you shouldn't do it for more MP, was just noting that holding hate is very possible without having to spam self cures.
I am saying, I think making Pally a caster is a bad idea. And giving and DoW a higher MP pool is in my opinion a bad idea. As of now For Disciples of War 1 mind = 2-3 MP. For Disciples of magic, 1 mind = 9-10 MP. Thats copy and posted from a dev post. My point is, Pally would be a DoW and I do not feel they should change MNDs value for the MP pool for Pally alone.
Well since they're trying to give fans the whole FF feel by giving us jobs with traditional names and what not. How do you remember PLD's holding hate in XI? They self healed or healed the other PLD in the pt with the occasional flash here and there lol. Provoke was meaningless hence why they were PLD/NIN or PLD/RDM before to long. So upping the base mana (not the stat attribute gains) wouldn't necessarily be that far fetched or detour from basic game mechanics/lore(since plds are a mix between warriors and clerics back in the day) they're hybrids that don't belong to DoW or DoM solely.
22 isn't wrong in saying we don't need to self heal to tank currently but it does make tanking a shit ton easier in terms of hate management if you did self heal. Since Rampart & Tempered will lost there hate gains(along with all the other self buffs with the exception of sentinel) and sentinel lost its increased enmity rate while active. As well as wardrum pretty much sucking now and taunt being less enmity then voke, Curing is one of the quickest way to catch up to your healers 500-800 heals (honestly shouldn't need C3 if you have multi healers but just giving an example).

Well, maybe we will have to simply disagree. but I don't think that justifies Pallys having a higher bas MP pool then other jobs. The secondary benefit to MND in this case, to influence pallys in this situation to add points is the fact that MND is also the stat that modifies heals.
I'm not talking about a huge MP pool increase just maybe an extra cure or two. If Paladins have any type of "holy knight" abilities such a flash etc, then the job will have to get at least a small increase in base mana. Compared to just a GLA that is. I do agree somewhat with your Coglin, it shouldn't be too easy mode and just spoon fed mana. Stating into MND and getting some gear with a little MP boost here and there will be welcomed. Paladin did have gear with MP and Def/HP, so I wouldn't expect it to go in a completely different direction.
is it me or provoke sucks now i mean if im a causal player and just want to tank glad is not up to the task i need tuant and warmongor to be of any use in holding hate cuz wardrum if u wardrum and someone else does any other ability and u lose hate u provoke samething u lose hate right away. so far i found when tanking in 45 instant i need at least 10 sec with noone using any ability or i lose hate this need to be fixs the game not user friendly to causal player need to make it that if someone chose to play a tank they can do so with out worring that they need these other ability to do it right. i have no intrest in the other class but im forced to rank them up cuz i will be an ineffitve tank i hope S.E fixs this.
We've found out that tanking Deepvoid Slave as mrd was far more effective, Defender II and Warmonger help alot.
