What I'm saying is that that's not a challenge, that's pure luck. There is no challenge in pulling a lever on the slot machine over and over again till you get three 7. You already proved you can win the fight. Maybe you can challenge yourself with another class or some strange party configuration with your FC. Fight it naked maybe?

I'm not against grind or luck on MMOs but I put a limit to what I can handle. To me 1 in 800 is just a ridiculous number.

Why are there so many people running with the 1% drop rate thrown out by the OP? There are other people who have gotten it much quicker. Should they come on here and claim the drop rate is 15% (or whatever random % they come up with) due to their experience? =.=.

RNG is fickle, and it hates a great number of people. Seems OP is one of them.

After a large enough sample size is obtained you can remove outliers, find the average drop rate, and remove personal biases like that. I've personally seen 2 drop within three runs, but statistically the drop rate is still 1%. He isn't talking about RNG. He is talking about statistics here.

    That's how randomness works.

Either way, while it's pretty argh, it's worth noting that Levi weapons are painful to people because the mirrors are viewed by a lot as necessary, not a bonus. You have three ways to get a level 100 weapon right now: Mirror, Second Coil, or the Atma/Animus megagrind. Essentially, when the alternate choices are "redoing content from my levelling-to-50 days over and over" and "Well, I don't have a static so I'm ****ed"... you see what I mean, right? It should feel less painful once Ramuh weapons and Syrcus Tower drops come into play so there's at least some variety for those who want to get their hands on an i100 weapon.

Doesn't necessarily mean an extremely rare drop existing is still all that great, given like you said, there's 8 people who will see it but only one walks away with it.

Perhaps I am being dense, but one person saying they've run something X amount of times and they've only seen something drop once is not enough proof in my eyes to claim a 1% drop rate for something in game. If SE were to publish a report showing how many times a particular instance has been done, along with the number of exclusive item dropped, and it still equaled 1%, cool.

Theres a dude in my free company who has gotten the tonberry drop from a boarskin map, 2 alexadrites from fates, he constantly wins the greed drops in coil, and his retainers steady bring him back rare items from venture. RNG is RNG but RNG is also racist.

This thread reads more like a 'A Lack of Thought Experiment'.

Another hardcore who believes anything outside of the hardest end game content is irrelevant, wasn't surprised in the slightest to see you've got a T9 weapon. Yes, we don't have to have these vanity items, in the exact same way we don't have to have the glamour system, but despite what you may think, some people actually like that kind of stuff. If I got a choice between a Mirror and one of the special mounts, I'd take the mount every time. Just because you think about nothing but progression it doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way, and it's pretty ignorant of you to think that.

Did we read the same post? He's a hardcore player because he's saying there are options for obtaining some of the best weapons in game? So what if he has a T9 weapon? He is obviously involved with coil and lucked out. Good for him!

What are you talking about? There's quite a lot of assumptions in your post. Something being extremely rare adds value to the item. Just because it's something that you want that is rather uncommon to see/get, doesn't mean they have to just give it to you. If they want something to be rare, yet at least accessible to most people to try to get, low RNG is the best way to do it. How special do you consider the guaranteed accessible mounts like the Behemoth, Ahriman, Fat Chocobo, etc? They're awesome mounts, but would you consider them the same value/worth as say... the Legacy Chocobo or even the mounts in question (Primal ones)? Design intent is a huge reason why you can't always get what you want.
