Returning Player. What should I do?

So i'm a legacy player with all the original classes and jobs maxed along with the DoL classes. I played the beta and a little bit during the free period right after launch but never subscribed do to real life stuff. I've recently picked the game up after getting a PS4 and am returning but I feel kinda lost on what to do. One of the annoying parts about having all the jobs maxed already is that I have to relearn how to play each class all at once and am generally expected to know what i'm doing... I've started in on Scholar which is fun, but i'm reluctantly debating whether I should just start a new character so I can properly relearn how to play. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should be doing to ease back in? Thanks in advance.

Well, if you're still wondering how to learn the changed UI and battle system it would a good thing to just go and do your class quests, as they help instruct you in how to play as that class, while also unlocking abilities as well (that you can't get otherwise). Another helpful thing gained through doing your class quests is they unlock the Hunting Log for each class - although you'll have no need for the exp boost, being able to go out and solo the enemies helps you get a feel for each class in combat if you have clear objectives to do.

Another thing you could try is to run around doing FATEs as a means of training - again the exp gained would be superflorous, but it's a way of getting into large scale battles while still learning how to utilize your class or Job.

One thing I done was to roll a new character to see the updated game through fresh eyes, it worked wonders, and you still have your main to go back too once you have gotten use to it, welcome back to XIV!

There's some merit to the idea of starting a new character. The quests in the starting town are different, so feel free to make 2 new characters in the other towns if you want to watch their story arcs. In the meantime, you can also reacquaint yourselves with the basic controls.

Feel free to do the class and main scenario quests also. You won't have to grind any levels or gear for them, and it will teach you about the new mechanics involved. If you're in a dungeon, the best way is to explain that you are a legacy player and to ask them to treat you as a new player. You're already overgeared and have all the cross-class skills, so you're still better than a new player in that regard. Most will take it in stride.

I'd say just take those classes you have leveled, and take them through the dungeons, in order. That way, you learn about all you new abilities little by little. Plus there's no real difference between this and starting a new character, except you get to keep your legacy stuff.

So I started out doing the different class's guild story lines as suggested thinking that I'd try to treat the experience as though I was a new player. The problem that I soon experienced was that, in having all the classes already leveled, I progressed through the story lines way way faster than I would have if I had started anew and, because I had little incentive to do all the side quests or dungeons, i was still left with little to no real experience with the different classes I was working through.
I accidentally decided to start doing the random low level dungeon roulette while trying to play with my new PS4 UI and...BAM!!! I remembered why I love this game.
After running all of the low level dungeon options with my gladiator, I am convinced that this is the best way to get back into this game...

This post was way longer but for some reason it won't let me post it. Thanks guys for the advice
