well yeah, but really until you have Light and Glow might as well rock Eos since well...she has slightly more utility low-level....was my main point.Or you can macro selene's embrace to heal the target of your target via your DPS abilities. Then Selene is perfectly viable (If someone pointless until you have both Fey Light and Glow). The only pull in Tam Tara I can think of that hits hard enough to warrant Whispering Dawn is the final orb trash pull with the 4 cultists no?
For Selene I have a macro that has 3 skills in 1 button and no wait time
Skillspeed Buff
Spellspeed Buff
Embrace
Before the fight starts, I use the macro to trigger the first skill (skillspeed), I wait 30 seconds then press it again. At that point I can just spam the button on whoever I want to embrace and Selene will auto-cast any buff on CDs (every 30sec) while still healing my main target. Very convenient.
I tend to stick with Eos most of the time. Main reason being if it's low healing maintenance, I can just pop a Whispering Dawn (with Rouse if it's available) and then go into Cleric's Stance to help with DPS until it goes off.
Honestly it is comfort with the group and the content... Then you pick which one is best suited. It is easier to choose Selene when running with a static and a co healer you know you can trust. In other situations such as random groups I usually lean more towards Eos as default just because I don't know what to expect out of the group. Content outside of SCOB does not have difficult dps checks so with randoms I'm going on the side of caution. I can always switch out later if the group is running smoothly.
People above have mentioned Selene's usefulness in different fights in SCOB.
I'm not an endgame player; I mostly stick to dungeons. That being said, I don't remember the last time I used Eos at all.
Using Selene or Eos really depends on the content you are doing, how comfortable you are with the content, and how the other healer is performing.(WHM in most cases since you are SCH. That. Or you're doing double SCH.)
Depending on how you feel with the fight will determine which pet you shall use.(This isn't the case for all content/circumstances.)
Eos will most likely be used when you're trying out brand new content. You're not sure what damage shall happen, is there a lot of AoE healing/magic damage I can block? Do I need to increase raid healing to help the other healer? All of these come into play. There are also times where the raid damage can be so much where it'll be most optimal to use Eos till either more gear, or to help the other healer. (Turn 6 Savage. Leviathan EX(debatable) etc. That or the other healer just sucks.) (Continued in next post.)
Poping Selene's buffs in a rotation will increase overall Raid DPS. Making the run go faster. If you're comfortable healing the fight, and the other healer can handle most of this. This is a perfect time to pop her buff, then rotate as they come up/go down. While "Stance Dancing" and helping DPS. This still does not mean you should: lultunnelvision and not help the other healer when healing needs to happen. You can still command her to Embrace as well while you're DPS at the time to still help with heals. She will embrace if you command her too.
Each pet has their uses and they don't: "suck." Knowing which one to use in a situation is key for a SCH. They should understand which pet is used for which, and how to utilize them to their full abilities.
I have to agree with this. Eos is really the only option in all dungeons before level 40.
I did copperbell mines shortly after unlocking scholar, and I basically afk'd through most of it. I think I casted physick twice through the whole run?
Eos' scaling when she goes to low level is really broken. It's like she stays level 30.
I've been put as sch on my alt instead of smn like I planned, and I don't care how much people cry there, I use Eos until I know the fights well enough and people stop messing up. Also the day my co-healer stops dps'ing even though the tank is uner 25%.
When everything is comfortable and known Selene really comes handy. Especially when you put her on "Sic", then i just dont bother about pet, she will buff automatically and heal whatever she likes, not like it will be too needed anyway. I also will always use Selene if another healer in party is SCH also and uses Eos.
