Request Craft feature, is it possible?

This just recently crossed my mind when not long ago I helped someone's melding via Request Meld feature. Would be great if a "Request Craft" exist. Big reasons are because the crafter having very critical space when a friend shows up requesting crafts, which usually ends up with crafter going back & forth to their retainer/market/npc just to make rooms for requester's mats.

On top of my hat, clicking crafter and selecting "Request Craft". It will then open craft list, even shows those which haven't attainable by their current DoH level. Then requester browse that craft list and select the craft they want to be build.
Or even better, system could scan requester current inventory, and only pop possible crafts that can be made from it.

This would save alot of hassle, especially if crafters are requested for some crafts needed, example being requested making Vanya set. It will even automatically use shard/crystal/clusters from requesters, also avoiding the hassle for trading those too.

I know that this feature would probably taking big effort to be implemented, but it sure would be nice to have if possible.

What do you guys think? ^^

I think they have something like this in the game. You need to go somewhat close to the person, type "/s" (or "/t <t>" if you target them), and politely ask if they can make you something.

It should be noted, by the way, that not all people leveled in crafting are proficient crafters. The process requires a good rotation, just like combat.

That would be cool for convenience if they could pull it off flawlessly. I would also like the option to be able to meld without switching to the specific crafting job -- I mean come on, we can repair without switching! Also, when are going to be able to repair other players?!

You know what's so overpowered in this game, that they just HAD to leave out?
    -Buffing during cutscenes.
    -Pets receiving the Protect buff.
-A blacklist with more than a 200 player capacity.
-Filtering the flying text for your own numbers.
-A better way to organize and sort through your macros.

I agree with this. There should be a simple "Request Crafting" where they right click you and (if you agree) they get to use the crafting log at YOUR level (so they can see all recipes). They choose what to craft/HQ etc just as if they had level 50 or whatever. The difference I would like to see is:
    A) When they hit "Craft" you get a popup "Start Crafting?" after which you assume control and craft away.
    B) A "Tip" area (like melding) where you can get guaranteed pay. Perhaps 2 slots (1 for success 1 for just trying?) You can see this before agreeing to craft.
    C) Items crafted (or failed mats) go directly to the paying customer. You still get your tip (at least the "just for trying" part)

On top of that there should be a request for repairs as well. It's silly to expect everyone to level every DoH to 50 for optimal repairs, but not so much to expect an alliance of 8+ to have odd-jobs to be able to repair through lengthy dungeons/instances.

Only if a crafter could set a status (similar to online/afk/busy) that would be "for hire" or something. I don't think every crafter wants someone to interrupt them with a request craft window.

I like the idea.. if tis implemented like request meld then there shouldn't be an issue.

they have all the mats and select the recipe, throw in a tip or payment and you take control of the actual craft. also maybe even have a toggle for a nq/hq expectation too. however dspguy is right we would need a new status to let people know.. maybe change our name's colour appearance to pick us out of a crowd easily too..

    kaynide -

sorry but I would say you fail then they get there gil back, payment is only transferred on successful craft. because seriously if you cant successfully craft it you shouldn't be making it for them.

cant agree more on the switching for melds nonsense. people are so slow, then they tell you they need such and such class do you have that at 50 too..!??

one window all classes get it done and move on is what is needed.

Could also have a reputation system for crafters, where if a crafter pulls off hq well, with nq for example, charges a fair price and is polite, the customer can give them a reputation point.

Kinda let's you know who is worth investing your money into when you need something made.

Such a system would be cool, but must be implemented right. Here is what it needs:
    1. Both parties can put material on the table, kinda similar to the trade system. That way, the crafter can supply some lower value materials or shards without the buyer going through the hassle of acquiring them (and possibly having to buy a big stack they don't need).
    2. Buyer offers up two amounts of Gil: one for NQ and one for HQ. if the craft is successful, then the money and item automatically change hands for that amount.
    3. Crafter offers up a collateral amount. If the craft is failed and materials are not recovered, then the buyer receives the collateral in compensation for the materials.
    4. If the craft is failed and materials are recovered, they are returned to the player who put them on the table and no gil changes hands. Non-recoverable materials (shards) are lost. It would probably become common practice for the crafter to put up the shards.

A tip slot that's guaranteed to pay out regardless.
A tip slot for the amount of gil you get on a Success.
And a tip slot for the amount of gil you get on a HQ.

Those three would be incentive enough for anyone with the required stats to try and aim for a HQ whenever possible.

On that note, i'd like to see something like that on melding too. One slot that you get all the time like now, and one that pays you out on a success. That way you can filter out who you want to help and who you dont want to help. I've been screwed over plenty of times already helping someone out with melding for a good 45 minutes of my time, only to have them go "ok, thanks, i'm done" after they took up your time and melded materia into gear worth easily upwards of 2 mil, with not even a tip to show for it. It's a tip, and not something agreed upon before hand, so you cant really force the issue, but it is somewhat of a dickmove :/
