right, to the OP, those cards are actually roughly the same in performance, they really go back and forth by like 5% at best, however if your from NA, the 770, reason, nvidia should be cheaper for you in NA then the equivalent AMD cards due to the bitcoin mining causing AMD prices to go up. If they are the same price, well imo doesnt matter though the 770 does run cooler so that should keep your system quieter.

To tOnni3, looking at your specs, you say you get 60 FPS in dungeons and less else where like 20-30 FPS in crowded areas, well this is normal, and nothing can be done about it until they develop the game to utilise 2 + cores better, people with 6 core intel extremes dont get any better FPS.

    My system specs
I5 3570 K at 4.4 GHz, and 8 GB of ram and a Nvidia 780, in CT I can keep 60 FPS, in peak times in rev toll, drops to around 40 FPS give or take 5 FPS, this is normal.

    some parts

if thats too much, then the next model down

    from AMD camp

personally go for nvidia at this price range, cos EVGA have a very good warranty.

I have 2x GTX 760 FTW's in SLI and they run great at 2560x1080 on max settings. They are quiet too for being two cards.

Just check your CPU load while playing.

You can also check your GPU load. If it hits 95-100% this is your limiting factor.

    @ OP
I'm running the game on a Palit Jetstream GTX 660TI and on a backup machine on a MSI Hawk R9 270X.
Both cards perform very well without any noticaple fps loss in any fights (70-90fps is normal).
The only areas where fps rate drops to ~40-50 is in very crowded places like near marketplace boards in Limsa.

I'm not a fan of getting the newest GPUs anymore. Their price of high end cards doesn't reflect the increased performance compared to mid range cards.
    GPU generations change quite fast.
I find it alot cheaper to stay in the mid range class and upgrade with every new generation, than spending double or even tripple the money on an actual high end card.
    My opinion.

tOnni3 wont get any more performance in crowded areas, this is something everyone experiences and its by coding, crowded areas will always dip the performance no matter what cpu you have or rather, no matter how powerful the CPU is, the only way to get any more gains is more clock speeds from this point, rendering the data fast as possible, but we are talking about speeds that arent reachable by conventional means.

What you are doing is enabling the 2nd GPU for enough VRAM for your 3 monitor eyeinfinity?

If single monitor, crossfire or not doesn't make a diff.

For those of you that were curious, Ive been having a lot of artifacts start showing up in some games, and in XIV specifically I've been having scenery and monsters not load which either lags me out or crashes the game. Its been an ongoing issue for about 1.5 months but I noticed it is getting worse. I've tried different drivers, rolling back to old ones, new ones and even beta ones to no avail. I even reinstalled XIV and other games and when that didn't fix it I reinstalled windows just to test it out as well.

Last night I swapped my husband's Radeon 7950 card in and tried out a few games and it seems to work just fine. So, Im thinking the real issue here is my card.

After some research, I've decided to order a Nvidia 770. It may not boost performance as much as I'd like to go right now, but its one of the few cards I can afford right now.
