If he's a new player, he's a ways off of worrying about 2nd Coil lockouts, though. Most content doesn't work like that, and 2nd Coil will eventually be DF like 1st, I'm sure.

I'm new to this game, but I'm not new to MMO's. Generally I have 2-3 alts I gear depending on if I really like the game or not (I had 5 in swtor). If I was locked out on a toon I just logged into an alt and rolled into the raid with the alt. You can do that in FFXIV I guess, but with cross class abilities and the armoury system itself, the concept of having more than one toon is extremely counter productive.
