Thread: Lockouts

    Lets say they removed lockouts or at least made it 1 item per turn per week. So thats guaranteed 4 items per week, per person, and if you have turn 9 down would mean every single member of your party could get fitted out in t9 weapons in one day. Which would stop any reason to ever enter it again, in 2 weeks you would have practically "finished the game".

    Lockouts are not just for longevity of content, but to limit the amount of top end gear on the shards. Not to mention run sells can affect balance, as if a certain quota of players are clearing certain content then SE side everything is fine whereas run sells skew that by allowing players through that couldn't normally clear said content. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with first coil and echo.

    I haven't gotten to Second Coil yet (I still need to beat Twintania in Turn 5 and fine-tune a coil group out of my FC) But I agree with not locking out participation, only drops. That sounds fair (Like CT used to be and CT2 will be.) It really is hard to find good help sometimes... like if an FC has multiple coil groups, someone can't make it, substitutions are made, and sometimes it would work so well. If people can help out, even if they can't get drops, that would be helpful in clearing the content and helping people that still need those drops.

    And as far as "restricting to only one class" by having these limitations, I disagree. I mean not everyone wants to play certain classes, and the achievements reflect on getting a relic weapon on each class, but only one animus and one novus. Getting multiple doesn't matter achievement wise. The game is built in a way that you can get any job geared up rather easily with ilvl 90 myth items and unlocks all endgame content, but if you don't like that class you can have the class you prefer to be the one you spend the most time on. It's made so you can try every class and then when it boils down to it, do the harder endgame content as the class you prefer because you want to perfect that playing style and get further. Jack of all Trades, master of one is the idea. If you really like playing all the different jobs, power to you, but the end game content is not easy to pass, so you'd only really want to run it on a job you feel comfortable with.

    I can agree that a full 100% lockout is something that is not helping the game at all. it leaves only those who can get a good static going the access to endgame. What should be done is a loot lockout to those who have beaten it already. Now i know exactly what your going to say, it will be either:

    A: Well then you get the gear that the others dont get to roll on.
    B: Then Players can just sell runs.

    As for A: This is about the only downside to the no lockout from entering way of doing it. But even then you have to get lucky and get the drops you want, otherwise you have to level up those classes to use the gear.

    And as for B: Players will sell runs immediately as they are unlocked so there is no weight to this debate. The only thing players can have acclaim to is the #1, which has already been done before.

    What i think they should do personally is keep lockouts on all content for 1 month, then remove entry lock and only loot lock. Then one month after that remove both. Thats 2 full months for you to get your firsts while still being able to help out friends.

    I am an US player on a EU server. I know what your going to say, but i love my FC and the friends i have made here. I will not leave unless something drastic happens. I have been told many times by my FC statics that they would love to help me do them and they know that i have the skills to learn quickly and be a great endgame player. But with the times that im on when they are just finishing their raiding schedule doesnt work. So this would really help myself personally not feel so locked out of content i know i could enjoy if only i was able to be on at "prime time".

    But, with the next incarnation of Coil in 2,4 the same will happen to second coil as with the first. You are limited to how you can run the present top tier of coil. But with patience you will be able to run it with every job all day everyday and inbetween coil updates there is CT which will allow you to gear other jobs in preperation for when they unlock coil with the following update.
