All of these quotes make me lol. I still remember playing a game where the price of entry for a raid was 98 players minimum or go home. We never had trouble finding the players for them either.

EQ still fields 54 people for raids no problem. Out roster before I quit when 2.0 hit was around 80 people. (the expansion they had announced 2 weeks earlier sounded [and was] terrible. Staggered release of content ugh)
83 guilds listed as progressing through the newest tier (Released at the end of May) With likely double that progressing through the past couple expansions still.
People immediately assume that finding more players is harder than finding fewer. When that makes no sense. Right now there are 10 8 man groups looking for 1 player. If raids were 80 man there would be 1 group looking for 8 players.
Not really a great example because I doubt all 10 of those parties are looking for the same content...
Because there is such a variety of content. Coil 6, 7, 8, or 9. 80% of them will be looking for 6/7 because they stumbled through 6 and most of 7 before realizing X player couldn't dps to save his life so they would never make it through enrages. A couple will be looking for 8 for the same reason or because a healer can't do his job. One will be looking for a replacement for 9 because their 8th lost his/her damn mind and went AWOL.
All of the above are looking for players to do turn 9 either now or in the near future. Gear is not a factor as it falls from the sky now and even more so come 2.3
It isn't like there are multiple raid tiers viable for guilds to focus on.
People just had to bring this thread back to the surface :/
