I can fight with my companion but not ride it...

Can someone help me be able to ride my companion? I can use him to fight but it gives me the excuse, "Cannot execute at this time." when I try to mount him...

You clicking on mount roulette or the chocobo mount specifically?

If your companion is summoned the only mount you're able to use is the "Company Chocobo" mount.

I got my license in 1.0 and something screwed up in the transition. I can't mount my companion and all my other mounts work including my legacy chocobo.

If you had a chocobo already in 1.0 then your chocobo whistle was converted into an item which you need to use on yourself in order to be able to summon your mount. Check to see if you have this item in your inventory. It could possibly also be in your retainer's inventory or on an NPC called the calamity salvager.

I went to the Calamity Salvager and he had my chocobo whistle! THAnk you so much for your help. Now what to do with all my cracked Materia that I retrieved too...

You can turn cracked materia into whatever materia you want so it's pretty valuable. Make sure you use it wisely. If you want to get rich check the market boards for prices of materia and turn your cracked materia into whatever will make you the most money.

You also need a lot of materia to get your novus weapon so it might be wise to save it for that as well.
