Do I have to control Eos?

Anything from Aurum Vale and up requires Eos's cooldowns to be ready for use at a specific time. To do otherwise really doesn't make you an effective healer. IF you really like to deal damage/debuff and give an occasional heal while the pet does what it wants, then maybe SMN is a better option for your ideal playstyle.

This is not true at all.

I was able to run level 50 dungeons effortlessly with Eos on Sic the whole time.
I even did the primal hard mode with Eos on Sic and was easily able to pull my own weight and heal through it.
(I know I did because we survived Titan HM with the other healer down for a while.)

If you micro-manage Eos at the expense of your own skills, you'd better keep it on Sic until you can do both without time down.

No not really. But it would be best you made some macros that tie in both your pet abilities and yours. The most I do is placing. I have never used eos/selene's abilities manually and my parties live. I guess this depends on your play style.

OT, to be an effective sch at late dungeons/end game, its best to keep your pet on obey, and use WD or the healing buff when you know something is coming. otherwise, like Felis said, Eos will blow those CD for no reason, and then when you need them, you dont have them.

I'd say yes. I use her a lot. Mainly for Embrace, her AoEs, especially the ones that improve healing. I definitely use her in big pulls and on bosses, she can really help boost your healing if you control her. Also placing her is important. AoE's are not gonna be worth much if she's not near tanks/people who need it. However, as someone stated earlier, it is based on your playstyle, I guess. I like to think of her as another healer in my party that I can control, kind of makes managing her a bit easier :P

I main SCH. What I do is put Eos on Obey, and I have her three non-embrace abilities as commands on my hotbar. I treat them like my own cooldowns, because WD is the only effective AOE heal we have, and Fey Illumination is a great general heal buff. Fey Covenant has limited applications. But if you let Eos cast them on her own, she'll be doing AOE heals for no reason at random times.

One of those questions even a child should be able to answer. The "obey" command for pets exists for a reason, you know. If it was perfectly fine to just put them on sic they might as well've left Obey out entirely.

Funny thing is how terribly the command worked on launch (and even into 2.1)

please, reread what you said. in your example you said you never used Eos/Selene buffs manually. meaning use of sic was used. had you included obey, and then use of macros, nothing would have been said.

When there's no AE damage, or notable AE damage. I prefer to use Selene over Eos. Still has embrace, plus Selenes buffs to help everyone with the Skill speed/spell speed buff used at the appropriate time. Can only use them at the appropriate time when you have on obey

Also Eos's AE heal, has an annoying habit of using it at the worst times XD aka, when tank does a large pull ^_^

Before lvl 50 you don't really have to use it, it also depends on fights, before going to BCoB and EX primals you shouldn't have to worry about Eos.

This does not mean other people (mosty FC mates) havent shared their great insight on how to controll the pets with me. I just thought to put ur pet on "obey" to use any macro you make for them would be obvious. Sorry if I wasent clear on that.
