You know, by your logic, the option to NOT to have to control Eos also exists for a reason. ^.^

Anyway, basically commanding Eos of course gives you more power, and I suppose especially in endgame people really want everyone to push out their absolute maximum potential. I don't do endgame things myself though and having Eos on automatic has never gotten any of my parties killed in regular dungeons.

So basically, you can do what you find most comfortable, really. However make sure you know what kind of crowd you are hanging out with. If you know they are the..demanding type, maybe you need to conform. Good luck!

If you let Eos do what she wants then she'll just blow her cooldowns at unnecessary times more often that not.

No not really. But it would be best you made some macros that tie in both your pet abilities and yours. The most I do is placing. I have never used eos/selene's abilities manually and my parties live. I guess this depends on your play style.

TC - "Hey guys, should I put Eos on obey?"
    Others:
    "Yes"
    "Yes you should"
    "Yes definitely"
    "Yes, you have to"
    "Nah I don't bother"

TC- "Okay then I won't use obey, thanks everyone!"

    lol

The guy who said he doesn't use obey is a bad scholar. If you want to be bad, you can listen to him. Or you can listen to the other dozen people who all told you to use obey. Why even make this thread if you're going to ignore the overwhelming consensus?

I said "similar" please read. I am taking a few things from everyone who has posted, trust me I will do well enough. I thank everyone who has chipped in some info..I got my own playstyle but that will not hurt any groups I join.

You can't use the macros he suggested to use if Eos or Selene isn't on Obey anyways

Everyone is telling you that you need to control Eos, and you decide to listen to the one guy who says to not do it. If you look back at the first LIVE letters when Scholar and Summoner were introduced, Yoshi-P himself said that he wanted pets to work in a way so that they could be independent in the early content, and instead manually controlled for more difficult, tactical fights at later levels.

I stopped using Eos on "Sic" at lv45. Anything from Aurum Vale and up requires Eos's cooldowns to be ready for use at a specific time. To do otherwise really doesn't make you an effective healer. IF you really like to deal damage/debuff and give an occasional heal while the pet does what it wants, then maybe SMN is a better option for your ideal playstyle.

Why do people refuse to read after finding something to disagree on? I SAID SIMILAR..I have my own plans..I will play how I like and people will live and everything will be fine. I got my own ideas from everything given. Jeeze. Give people something to whine about and they will.
