Do I have to control Eos?

OK so I love Scholar (loved healing in WoW as well) as I find it alot funner than white mage. Now I am at 45..almost 46 and I have never controlled what Eos does. I just back her up if the party needs heals. If I decide to raid or do EX or coil am I going to have to control her abilities? Cause I like just letting her to her own devices.

"Alot" is not a word. Allot is but it's unlikely to be what you want, try "A lot".

Val short answer is yes. Using the Healing Effectiveness Buff from Eos at a specific time when incoming damage is higher will help you a ton. Also you're going to want to use Rouse+Healing Buff + Whisper ( AoE Regen ) in tandem when incoming AoE Damage is nasty. And then theres the Magic Defense Buff too. You're going to want to use that when Magic Damage incoming to your tanks/team is increased. Im pretty sure you can macro all that so you can set them as an Action Bar Key Press.

One of those questions even a child should be able to answer. The "obey" command for pets exists for a reason, you know. If it was perfectly fine to just put them on sic they might as well've left Obey out entirely.

    No need to be rude.

The fun of text. I wasn't trying to be rude in any way, but clearly it came across that way. (Note to self: Smack some emotes in there next time)

Thing is, if you just think out of the box for just a second and take a gander at your pet's skills you'll likely notice some might be useful for certain situations. And since your pet uses everything willy nilly it'd be quite bad to need a certain skill at a certain point, but not have it available cause silly Eos decided to use it by herself. Same with Contagion, if I let Garuda just do what the heck she wants to do I won't have my contagion up when I want to use it. I myself always rocked Sic in the past. I mean hey, I was ranged, I obviously didn't think of the other party members either. Why would I care that Carby used his pushback thingamabobber (forgot the name) whenever he wanted to, right? Then I started leveling DRG and realized how annoying it is when a mob gets pushed back all the time. Very annoying. So nowadays it's just Obey all the way unless I'm soloing stuff.

Again, wasn't trying to be rude. But it simply takes a teeny bit of thinking to realize they had a reason to allow you to control your pet's actions since there are some you really don't want on cooldown when you need them most. Not wanting to do so is understandable, but certainly not the best idea.

It exists for a reason yes, but not because its necessary to use it. the reason is FREEDOM.

You dont really need to, but if you want to be more useful, incase of failure which others or you cause, you should.

I wouldn't say it's entirely true to put it that way.
I can be a tank that doesn't use my cool downs. It's there but not necessary to use it. It's freedom! Would I gimp the party? yes. So would a SCH that doesn't control fairies.

If you can control even embrace to heal more frequently (if left alone fairies are a little slow), you can free up yourself to do other stuff such as putting up DOT.

There is a difference however. Not controlling Eos is a healing loss yes, but short of SCoB a SCH by themselves with little involvement from Eos is enough to heal an encounter readily and ably.

I'm not disagree with what you said there. But put it in another perspective, if fairy can heal more to reduce sch's healing input, sch can do more dmg (benefiting the group). It's just the difference between a top notch player and a good player.
