Unable to properly launch game after updating to windows 8.1

When using windows 8.0 I am able to play the game perfectly fine, but after updating to windows 8.1, I have an issue where the game is unable to launch. The game just crashes with no game error. A windows error appears letting me know the game has crashed and it is unable to resolve the issue. This is obviously not an issue with the game, but is with windows. Does anyone know about this and or have a fix?

Well I had 8.1 before installing arr so I have had had no problems. If no one else has any ideas a reinstall of arr might work, but that can be a long process if no one else has any other ideas.

This actually did solve the issue. it took me a bit of time to figure out why though. After poking around in the files, I realized that when you upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1, both the launcher and the game are moved into a different folder by the auto archive system so that the PC owner may revert back to 8.0 in case their system is unable to run 8.1 properly. Since the game is in a different folder, but the launcher is likely on the desktop or menu as a shortcut, the location of the shortcut is also changed by the archive system so that you may still run the launcher. Since the launcher launchers a very specific file location, which no longer exists, the game cannot launch until moved from the "old" file to a "new" file.
