Similar to going into coil and someone hacks/whatever so they are invincible and can kill the boss. Then you roll on the loot, in your case you gained XP from others cheating in your party.

    My advice if you see someone cheating/hacking in a dungeon is to report and get outa dodge so you don't get dragged down with them.
    Oh they were reported, it took a few minutes to see their names though.
