IDK what to tell you, I just get a lot. I also offer myself to mark doors in Amdapor, so I can always count on at least one commendation from there. For trials I go PLD because the queue is faster and it's only one fight so it doesn't feel like a chore. You'll get less commendations from that as DPS because it's usually harder to distinguish yourself there, but in a 4 person group, where you're always either about to take agro or have agro on you, I can usually count on 2, at least 1, and maybe 3 if the tank doesn't hate me after the run. You'll always get the groups where you feel like you did a lot but get nothing, but that doesn't happen many times to me.
