    Any way to pull your characters 3D model?

    All I want to get ahold of is my characters 3D model, does anyone know of a way to pull just that?

    And I mean without using xivmodels.com which EVERYONE suggests.

    Currently there is no publicly available way to do this.

    I've toyed around with it for a little bit, but the system for rendering characters and their gear as well as the textures and on top of this the gear-deformation system which I cannot for the life of me figure out, is rather intricate and unique, which makes it altogether extremely difficult to do with the tools that I have now to me.

    Getting the base 3D mesh is easy (sometimes), however applying the various texture maps correctly is a completely different story. Re-Animating them is about ten-folds more complex, I've completely given up on that.

    Short Answer:

    For now, no.

    XIVmodels is no longer being developed, what they managed to achieve was nice however, certainly more than I've been able to do on my own.

    To quote from their website;

    XIVModels is no longer being developed. Due to the difficult nature of rendering armor correctly, the complex dye system and multi-body-part system that FFXIV uses in-game, it has made it difficult to display things correctly. We are focusing on XIVDB and other projects at this time!

    The site will still continue to display new stuff in the patches and exist live, if any developer is ever interested in working on this project, let us know.
