Ifrit EX question

Assuming you're overgeared for the fight, which most people are these days, how many nails can you kill at the same time with a meteor, and still survive?

I think you get about 4 or so. If I recall, the nails do 1.5K per. So....I'd go with that.

Overgeared or not, that's a terrible idea all around. Sure, the nails have their explosion specifically to prevent an LB from destroying them all at once, but god forbid if you hit Ifrit himself: if he goes below a certain HP threshold during the 3rd set of nails, he'll instantly enrage.

This is one mechanic that can be more difficult to half-ass than to just do it right.

Not to mention the instant 3 or 4 stack debuff from popping them all at once may likely kill a tank or BOTH tanks if they take a cleave immediately following the LB. Your tanks would need to be ready and HG/Holmgang immediately.

Lol even if you did survive the nails ifrit would still do hellfire.
In ifrit hm i casted healer lb3 during a wiping hellfire.
An interesting thing is that ifrit will cast 2 hellfires just to make sure that your raid is dead due you not killing enough nails.
I was like woot i rezzed everyone thru that! Must be a glitch or something, then seconds later.
He jumps up and casts a second hellfire shortly after.
Best bet would be for tanks with buffs up.

Just drop LB2, and safely get the kill. You can burn the last nail down, and healers have way more time to top off all.

You should have a few seconds before it actually goes into LB3 (from what I've seen).
