Fries and Chips in 'Murica are actuality different things.

In Europe if you Order Fish and Chips you will get fries. if you want chips you need to say Crisps.

Don't know what part of "'Murica" you live in, but here in the northeast if you order Fish and Chips you get fries the same as Europe. I have honestly never seen a place that gives you chips when you order "Fish and Chips".

Even one of the biggest seafood chains in the Northeast (prior to filing bankruptcy) was called "Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips" and there were only fries on their menu.
