Please remove the lockout for leaving instances.

I honestly think this particular restriction is completely misjudged.

It's one dimensional to think of it simply as "1 player leaves which makes things difficult for 3 other players, so the majority wins and the individual must be punished". There are so many different social situations that can occur in a dungeon / trial and many reasons for a player wanting or needing to leave. I honestly think if SE could witness and decide the cases 1 by 1 then a lot of the time they would agree the player should be able to leave without punishment.

In my view, by auto-restricting a player for leaving an instance, SE are no longer in line with their more recent policy of not getting involved with party politics and only banning for clear offences such as harassment. To give just one of many examples of when the current method is unfair: What if I enter a dungeon or trial where the other 3 or 7 members have entered as a party, and they are being completely irrational or trolling? Should I really be punished for leaving just because they are the majority?

SE's most recent stance on dealing with reports is correct IMO, and to continue down this line they must remain completely neutral and therefor should remove the lockout on leaving instances and continue to allow others to join in progress. No one needs to suffer.

If one needs to leave for real then this dose no harm to them i mean 30min for someone who has something to do i'm guessing you mean by leave you mean {stuff to do in real life?}then 30min is nothing. I mean think about a dps that has sat there for 30 or 20min just to have someone quit? well that's not fair so the lockout is a good thing that and for ppl that will rq at random or ppl who get what they want and quit a lock out is fair.

The pros of the lockouts far outweigh the cons, and I personally wouldn't mind if the 30 minute timer were increased.

You haven't taken into account the whole of what I have said. Yes, there will be times when it is unfair on a party for someone who leaves unjustifiably, but by favouring only those people and disregarding those situations when it's flat out unfair for the player to have to stay (party's that are literally beyond saving but won't give in etc) then SE are no longer neutral. The only fair system is a completely open gate, free to leave and free to join.

The 30 minute lock out does far more good than bad.

The grass is NOT greener on the other side with this issue.

If anything, a function to be excused from a dungeon requiring a vote.

But no, don't remove the lockout on its own.

But guys, what if his cat really WAS on fire?

But seriously. This would cause much more harm than good. How often do you run into a 3/4 or 7/8 premade that acts like a group of jerks, compared to running into 1 guy that acts like a jerk (and would leave if there wasn't a penalty because his time is too precious). If you have to go because of a real life issue, its not like the lockout is harming you. And if you have to do something with your FC, being in a full premade bypasses the penalty.

And do you really want to overwhelm the GMs with (more) countless reports of someone leaving a dungeon for no reason? Additionally, if they did decide to impose a penalty on a case by case basis, the penalty would likely be huge.

At the end of the day, there is no smoke without fire. When a player enters a particular trial or dungeon (roulette aside), they generally want to complete it for a purpose. If they want to leave it's generally for a reason.

What are those situations / reasons you're talking about? I mean, could you please give examples?
A very bad party including some sort of harrasment / trolling comes to my mind, but nothing else
