Cross-Server Recruitment, is it Allowed?

To put it simply... Are we or are we not allowed to have cross server recruitment threads? And if not, why?


As far as I'm aware, there is no rule regarding cross-server recruitment. I am to believe the server threads are mostly used for recruitment of various reasons for groups in-game, but the following shows it needs more clarity.

Every cross-server recruitment thread i have made, has been moved back to my own server's forums, spamming them, for reasons unexplained to me. There are dozens of other Free companies experiencing the same issue with the moderators. What happens is the user would make 5 threads on 5 different servers regarding their Free Company, and then a moderator would move all 5 back to their own server. This method of dealing with it poses a problem itself because not only does it prevent cross-server recruitment, but also spams server threads with the same thread, which is not intended by the creator.

It would make more sense to delete them if they didn't like the content than move them right? Why would a moderator break a rule of spamming? My guess is they didn't intentionally know the purpose of the thread, being cross server recruitment.

Some clarity is in order, please.

They need just a general recruitment forum probably would make the most sense because they do offer server transfers.

I don't see the problem, myself. Whats to stop someone from creating Free Company - Server Branch and recruiting for it? Nothing, really, especially with how generous the various subscription plans are with character limits (despite not needing to). And then there's server transfers, much cheaper and less restrictive than in XI. Go ahead, recruit. Just remember to keep in touch out-of-game in case your recruits wind up having to change their names.

To my understanding, and I could be wrong, most people on the forums click the "New Posts" button to check out what's up to date, rather than going through each individual section, subsection, and every single server forum one by one.

I get very annoyed at all the recruitment threads because it takes up about 8 spots on the front page that could be used for more productive and ongoing conversations and improvements. Imagine one of the newer topics, for example the "toxic community" bandwagon, being broadcast across every server. When someone presses "New Posts", they see:
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server A)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server B)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server C)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server D)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server E)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server F)
"The community is TOXIC!!" (server G)

Not only does it look bad, it's a form of spam, at least in my opinion. But I am curious, how many successful hits do recruitment threads get when they tell someone they can pay $15 to find a static group on another server (which may or may not turn out well)? I understand some groups front the payment for transfers, too, but I'm still wondering the success rate of these threads.

Not only does it look bad, it's a form of spam, at least in my opinion.

Pretty much this. If people really want to look for a raid group from other servers they will go check each sub-forum for an overall perspective of what server seems active+competent anyway.

I do agree the spam is annoying, but that is not the root of the issue i have. I want them to stop moving them back to our server entirely, there is no benefit from them being moved in such a way. Being that i have only made one thread a day for recruitment, its a far fetch from being the spam you proclaim on the "New Posts" feature as of the past few days.

At first i thought they were moving them to deter us from putting more up because it annoys everybody on our own server when they move them all to our server's forum. We never got a warning, but i chose to lighten the load at which we put them up, only to make one a day on a different server each time. Seems pretty reasonable right? Instead i continue to see them moved daily, after a few hours. Never one warning or message why. This seems extremely unreasonable given that its the server forum's purpose, and no rule governing it otherwise.

Seems we get about one person every 4 posts that are very exceptional. Our FC is trying to recruit for an end game ranked progression, and I would like to broaden its awareness since its not quite a very popular idea in this game.
