I'll recommend you to stack the Alexandrite until you're 100% sure of what you want on your weapon. If you're going as paladin, a friendly warning: SE didn't fix an issue with Alex dropping on FATEs. Apparently, if you upgrade your Curtana to the Novus state, the FATEs won't drop Alexandrite anymore. I don't know if that happens if you only upgrade the shield.
At the minimum pick up the daily quest every day that you play and complete it the same day. That's about it... do fates with your animus weapon when you can, spend myth or allied seals on maps if you want to.
Well.... that really depends on how you're going to tackle this lol.
Either way try to spiritbond as much as you can because you will need either the materia or the gil.
it is bray spamming if you want to get novus done fast. 800 myth per map. im only half way done through novus, casually doing it since it started doing only 1-2 maps per day.
Do maps are soloable (all of them or most of them??)

Quit your job.
The need to spam dungeons for myth tomes will greatly decrease in 2.3 as they add more ways to obtain Alexandrite maps at no cost (other than effort). They will also be adding sands/oils of time from Syrcus Tower (CT2) and gear/weapon rewards from Hunts. Because of all these massive changes, I wouldn't be hasty and blow all your myth tomes on maps just yet, as they may be better spent on other classes after 2.3 when getting Alexandrites becomes a lot less tedious. For now just bide your time and stockpile resources until you can determine what you want to do with them.
If you plan to solo maps for alexandrite, make sure you've got good gear and are relatively competent at your job. Some of them can be a little brutal to solo if you're undergeared or don't know your job very well. Otherwise, bring a friend.
