Say what you will, but if a tank wants to act like they're the only member of a 4 person party that has the intention of running that dungeon for a reason, then they may as well have not started playing an MMO to begin with. It entirely defeats the purpose of it being a party. Not up for that hierarchy bullcrap.

For situations like this, I don't bother to ask if anyone needs loot from said dungeons regardless of what dungeon it is. Instead as a tank I take the time to look at all party members search info. Thus prompting two options,

    1. If this is their first time in the dungeon and/or they are level synced or this is their first class they are leveling then I clear all rooms and I roll pass on everything because chances are my party members could use the gear more than I can.

    2. If none of the above applies in the first requirement then I clear mobs and take the direct routes to the bosses.

I just clear the mobs between me and the last boss. If anyone wants a full clear they can just ask for it, but only if they ask for a full clear for exp. I'm not gonna play mind reader.

If you don't ask for a full clear. You will not get a full clear. I'm not gonna go out of my way for people who say nothing to me in the dungeon unless it's to complain.

The exact same thing happened to me as well. Halfway through Brayflox I get blackmailed with no heals by my pug..
So it's OK to blackmail a group if you're the tank but not if you're the healer lol
also no the tank isn't the most important member of the group, they just think they are. See how you go without heals....I've finished runs with no tank with a summoner using an egi or a dragoon tanking but you can't finish a run without any heals - and no I'm not a healer :P

I personally dont think a dungeon should be a place to farm for levels, specially if you're a DPS, i just do fates and i know its old school but if it still works, hey. Like, why wait 30+ minutes to get in a dungeon with a tank that tanks like that? in fates you do your thing, you do what you want and get to lv 50 at the speed that you want. I stopped being a tank because i dont know why but ppl always think that they can tell what the tanks can and can not do and when i look at their list of classes some doesnt even have a tank class but when i see that some ppl do have a tank class im like 'then why the hell dont you tank so you can solve the problem of always entering dungeons with tanks that sucks". I do dungeons because i have to (quests) or when im really really bored, but hey, dont listen to me, im just a guy who just hates dungeons and only do them for rewards. I like when tanks do that though when im doing the Roulette, i like to get my Allagan pieces as fast as I can

This is actually a good idea. May use this method to spam Sastasha and get Plundered Ear Cuffs, stick them all on the MB and make a zillion gil.

That tank might not be a jerk, since MOST people want to skip the skipable. BUT, the play here, i beleive, would be this : tank needs to ask if all players wish to skip. If he doesn'T ask and just go... i would heal but i would ask to hold on once that pull is over with. THEN i would proceed to explain my opinion and ask the party if anyone needs any XP or items... REfusing to heal is assuming the tank is a jerk. So it's assuming wrong. BUT, a tank that doesn'T ask and skip is also assuming wrong.

A healer should honestly have the heaviest weight in the party (this is coming from a tank, I'm aware of my responsibilities). They're sustaining this tank, and usually most of them display a level of asshattery (I've done it before, I'll be honest, but I've been in bad moods before, and usually correct myself by the end) that I can't even fathom. I don't understand why the tanks think so highly of themselves, because they're nothing without a healer.

I hate how a lot of the end-game players display some level of superiority compared to the lower level players, or to each other in general. It seems that even if you're the most polite person ever, you'll launch a new Calamity in someone's mammories.

The community is sadly toxic, but at the same time I meet plenty of people who seem relatively cool with a lot of things.

For instance, recently while doing Ultima's Bane, I failed miserably as the tank (didn't LB when I was supposed to, LB'd too early, basically looked like a total fail, the other tank never ran this before and did better than me), and everyone else seemed to deal with it .. except for one asshat of a healer, who promptly told me off (but honestly at that point even I thought I deserved it, I stopped playing after that so I wouldn't wither away my own sanity even more).

As for what you did, it was a good thing. A DPS is unfortunately very easy to replace compare to the other two classes, and they don't get much say (try running Garuda EX as a Monk and not get trolled a bit, never ends well for me), this is where someone with more of a say needs to step up, like you did.

If I could give you a commendation for that, I would have.
I think I broke off-topic on this, so I'm going to end it here.
