Oh oh oh oh can I use a quote too?!I feel like a jerk for saying this, but I am going to quote one of my favorite fan fiction authors here:
"Everyone has an opinion, and they're all wrong"
Basically it comes out to this: unless you are stating something that can be verified as hard fact (which is outright impossible, not even Scientists claim things as hard undeniable FACT) then you are stating something that amounts to an opinion. And opinions can always be proven wrong in some manner.
*clears throat* Opinions are like a**holes, everyones got one and most of them are s**tty!

They participated in the fight, they deserve to roll on the loot just like everybody else.

I don't believe that there's any kind of bias in the looting system that favors bad or inexperienced players.
However...
If there WAS such a bias, it makes a lot more sense than the reverse - giving the loot to players that are already successful and presumably well-geared. The poorly-geared and inexperienced players need that loot a lot more than you. If you can clear content with the gear you currently have, even with a scrub or two spending most of the fight eating dirt, what do you need with an upgrade? Heck, you should be PASSING the drops to those poor schlubs!

LOL, "I lost a roll so that means the random number generator has a hidden agenda against me." It's totally random, get over it.

Another pointless thread about RNG.
"You suck, so I'm not letting you have gear!" Yeaahh.....I see that going over real well.

One thing I do think should be changed is the following situation that happened to me: Player drops mid-boss fight. New player joins as the boss dies. He was locked out of the boss fight and had no chance to participate. He still gets to roll on the loot. He Needs on it and gets it. That's just... really frustrating.
Of course, I guess the problem with fixing that so players who are locked out of boss fights can't get loot is that trolls can initiate boss fights before everyone is ready, locking some players out and giving them more of a chance at the loot... Maybe players who join the game after a boss fight is locked out shouldn't be able to lot on the loot from the boss fight?
Meh. I'm only annoyed about this because it happened to me, and I wanted those gloves, and I was the only player who participated in the fight who could Need them :P

Master loot with strangers is open to so much abuse, and I hope it never comes.
Just because a player died doesn't mean it's always their fault, shock I know but sometimes their are just really bad healers (myself included if healing drunk)
Sure seeing a drop go to someone who did little effort can get annoying, however it's not like you set the group up yourself, so you can't enforce your looting beliefs and they have every right to roll.
Personally if I do bad for whatever reason I don't roll on loot even if I need it

Here is a healthy tip; after you watch them repeatedly die to a mechanic.. look at their name, kick them from the party & don't play with them. #Problem Solved
Take the thread down toodles.
