    The alternative to lockouts is annoyingly low drop rates (see Levi Mirrors) and the hardcores will still grind that out in a month (Levi EX PFs have dropped dramatically lately). We certainly can use more endgame content but take a look at everything else they're churning out. If they sidelined things like Frontlines and Housing improvements/Personal Housing and the upcoming Golden Saucer they could certainly churn out more endgame raids and even more open world content. Pull resources from the DX11 release team or from the expansion pack team perhaps? Already enough complaining on the forum about how long the DX11 client is taking and we'll probably see an increase in the "When's the expansion?" posts. I think they're steadily heading in the right direction, they just need to get all these major projects out of the way. Assuming Hunts will also award the UATs then 2.3 will give us three ways to get those and two ways to get Oils/Sands. By 2.38 we'll potentially have 3 ways depending on their timeline for adding them to CT2.

    No MMO is in the past 10 years. That's the problem.

    Think about how much design time went into designing everything for 1-50. Which takes say 2 months to complete on a super casual play schedule.

    Then how much time total has been spent on end game content. That were apparently supposed to spend the other 10 months of the year doing.

    They could completely remove several zones from the server tomorrow and I bet half of us wouldn't notice for weeks if no one told us. There is little reason to do anything but sit in town and wait for queues or raid time.

    SE had a perfect redo with CT2. Why not make CT2 more End Gamey? But no they want to give us ilvl100 gear, Which we already get. They couldn't have made two versions of this next CT? Not asking for some Brutal Crystal tower, But they could have made one for the lesser skilled players, And a harder version with higher ilvl rewards for the skilled player base (didn't want to use Casual/Hardcore). Or they could have just sucked it up and made CT2 harder than what they have planned, With higher ilvl rewards.

    I've seen lots of good suggestions for End Game content. Yes, We are always going to have lockouts to prolong the life of a game. But its a two way street lockouts can also harm a game. To many lockouts and players will just take a break until they are lifted. Cause the one thing I hate to hear is, "No lockouts players will get everything done in a week and quit".

    Because everything in the game is easy and accessible, it's a theme park. It's the only way they have to stop people from progressing too much, sadly.

    Well originally we were told CT and coil would both be the raid content (which made sense because a lot of MMOs have 10 man and 20-25 man content). Then they decided to make CT the afk candy land it is.


    But yea having real organized 24 man content on par with Coil difficulty would be AMAZING. Esp since that's the whole reason a bunch of us from EQ started playing. Had our 24 man guild ready to go.... and then the abomination that is CT released. 5 of us left now logging on a couple hours a week holding out hope for the expansion.

    Meh.

    They could easily still gate the oils/sands/gear behind having to the dailies and weeklies by making them give a different currency.

    Then having repeatable ones that give myth (perhaps not as much as doing dungeons if they really want to be stingy about it) and a different currency that can purchase things that you can already get doing dungeons like darklight, i90 class sets that you can already purchase for myth, ventures, the old crafting mats that drop out of dungeons and can be purchased with seals, grade 5 dark matter, relic oils, etc. If they felt like it they could even make it so if you do a hunt in an atma drop zone, there's a chance they will drop that atma if you have the zenith equipped.

    This is pretty much what I was asking for as a middle ground change.

    Because you would literally hit a content wall of nothing to do no reason to log in for the most part and unfortunately. I know you don't like to hear it but yes allot of players would get majority of everything done a week or two how long did it take the hardcore was like what 4 weeks after 2.2? Just because you hate to hear something doesn't mean it can't ring true it unfortuantly a necessary evil love or hate it.
    I don't like allot of lockout either but I know why they put them into place boils down to cause and effect it might sound really cool to be able to do everything unlimited without any lockouts but it could have much more far reaching negitive effects and yes it a balancing act and not by any mean easy to do when people want everthing but told by that timer ingame hey you have to wait till next week.

    It's really simple, actually.

    If they didn't do that, people woulf run dungeons and raids non-stop till their brains start bleeding.
    And we'd have like 1/4 of the server struting around fulldecked in iLvl 110 gear 4 days after the patch hitted. And the devs don't want to incentivize this kind of behavior.

    Maybe if they use different timers, not always the same
    As example:
    25 hours to do the content multiple times (no 100% dropchance of course), then 50 hours lockout. 3 contents with this timer and everyday one of the 3 contents would be unlocked.
