Why I find FF14 enjoyable

I've played quite a few MMOs over the years and I have to say, despite the fact that I don't care too much about the Final Fantasy franchise, I (surprisingly) really like FF14.

Despite what people say, I believe FF14 is a good blend of modern and old-school.

The key thing is that the game doesn't segregate players. It's probably the only MMO I've played that not only encourages players to play together but it succeeds.

- There are emotes for cross-language communication and cross-server play (which can help widen your Duty Finder search).
- There is cross-platform play between PC and Playstation (which helps alot with server population).
- Fates are not only entertaining but they're also worth doing.
- Character levels scale down for dungeons and Fates so that you can play with your friends

The people I meet are cheerful/positive and being able to scale down and queue for low-level dungeons drastically increases dungeon variety.

I love the game. Most of the complaints seem absurd to me. It's like I'm playing a totally different game from them.

Fates are fun...for awhile. That novelty will wear off. :P Otherwise I agree, this game is awesome.

The exploration factor in this game is awesome. I'm leveling my second job now, have a 48 PLD and got my BRD to 46 last night and still coming across new areas! I agree we must be playing a different game!

I don't get all the fuss over Fates. Fates are by far better than FFXI's mystery lottery placeholders for nm's/camping & getting ninja claimed. And they're better than instances.

FFXIV is the pinnacle of the franchise. It's as if they took everything that was fun from every FF game, solved all of the true annoyances, & rolled it all up in one beautiful piece of art.

I've recently realized that I'll often just rotate the camera, zoom in/zoom out, or run around & watch the world... a hour later I realize I haven't gotten any myth or signed up for a roulette. Yet I still had fun.

Hildibrand Series

Games need more of this crazy misadventurer Side stories that give you a good laugh becuase game start to feel a bit stale if it 90% serious storyline all the time.

It good to lighten the mood and take a break from all those serious business moments in the game's main, class, job, and side storylines.

Well, I'm sure I've farmed them all for Atmas. During which I unlocked all the Fate-specific achievements & racked up a sizable amount of seals to use for ventures. They get you out in the world, the fate lore was entertaining, my chocobo got xp, I got some gil & mats. I think it was a brilliant system.

Glad to see a positive thread. I agree, I just like playing the game. Even though I am beating T9 I still like to even just hang out and do random stuff. Beautiful graphics sometimes have me just walking around looking at crap for no reason lol. Can't wait for them to get going and add lots more fun things to do. (LOTS MORE SIDEQUESTS LIKE HILDEBRAND HINT HINT lol)
