At this point until they say otherwise this is what I'm expecting them to be like. Just like Odin and behemoth fates that randomly spawn and get zerged. Hopefully the specific conditions they are talking about are several times a day and not once or twice a week.I only posted the one in red since like I figure'd they didn't see the news posting. I guess I shoulda also posted
While regular marks denote enemies commonly found in the wilds of Eorzea, elite marks denote powerful enemies that only appear under certain conditions.
And then the question becomes just like my first. Will this end up like mostly Odin/Behemoth where harder enemies can just be zerged by anyone around and get credit because their is NO claiming system they took it out when they brought in powerlvling in 1.0
This is how I interpreted it:
1. Regular marks would be quests to go out and kill some monsters in the world, sort of like Animus books.
2. Elite marks would be like treasure maps, where you can form a party to go out to the proper location, pop the monster, and kill it as a group. The fact that everyone gets the same elite mark would be so that you don't have to do 8 different elite marks to get everyone in the group their completion.
The thing is though Treasure Maps said the mobs would be popped by clicking on the caskets the only "appear during certain conditions" could mean that but, it could also mean time/weather/etc. Also when we saw the treasure maps in the video you saw them actually spawning the monster in the trailer. In this trailer their walking up to an already spawned bear.
That leaves me to believe the marks are not spawned like maps and that they'll be a free for all like Odin/Behemoth
The bear is there and they're engaging as soon as that part of the trailer starts. It's possible we're coming in immediately after they popped it. Very possible it's similar to vistas and doing an emote triggers the spawn.
It could be very well that they spawned it. Though having the warrior walking forward to it then stopping and celebrating when it see's it before engaging makes me question.
And with how many threads we're posted about bringing NMs back into the game before Hunt was introduced it would not suprise me if they are timed/condition spawns, and then the problem comes in no claim. Elite Marks lose alot of appeal if it ends up being just like normal FATES in gameplay

^ I agree with this;This is about the "Wanted" tasks you get from the Hunting Boards in the GC.
The daily tasks are for every player different. The weekly tasks are for everyone the same.
I'm sure it works like Leves & maps
You get the task, go to the place, activate it and an enemy spawn that only you and your party can attack.
"While regular marks denote enemies commonly found in the wilds of Eorzea, elite marks denote powerful enemies that only appear under certain conditions."
When you see "under certain conditions" in Maps/Leves/Quests/Sightseeing it's usually you travel to X place and activate the duty, emote in the right location, or wait for the right time/weather and emote.
I think regular hunt monsters will spawn when you emote in the right place; I think elite hunt monsters will require a party setup, time, location, and possibly weather to be spawned - but they will be locked by individuals/party.
That sounds like a good system, very close to XII. Personally I would hate any kind of claiming system that would promote camping. Either make the rewards open to everyone who partecipated (like FATEs), or locked to the party that spawned it, but allow everyone to be able to obtain a map/chest for that hunt (like leves).^ I agree with this;
