The Novus grind is getting easier...but the Animus...isn't...?

It does seem a little uneven to me that they'll allow people to start stocking up on alexandrite (through hunts at least) before getting to that part of the quest, while with the book portion I actually had to buy some myth armor, minions, etc. to prevent capping tomes before I found all of my atma. I'm not sure I'm against it. Actually I wouldn't be at all upset if they allowed players to buy multiple books, even without having an atma weapon (though completing any part of the books would be impossible at that point).

As for the secondary stats, sure max DET and CRIT would make for the best damage on the weapon completely out of context. I never understood the obsession people seem to have there. Several people already have accuracy on their weapons before the Novus stage, so they are either way above the accuracy cap or already have gear that would easily accommodate accuracy on the weapon. It's not as though it makes any difference what slot the secondary stats are on, just the cumulative total.

EDIT: obviously for some people 3 million gil is insignificant, or the time spent crafting and spiritbonding to make all the materia. To me, and many others I think, it isn't. If I suddenly had 100 million gil tomorrow I'm sure I could spend it all.
