The Novus grind is getting easier...but the Animus...isn't...?

Aren't they increasing myth gain from certain content in 2.3? That will make things a lot easier if they increase it by a decent amount. If, for example, the first two bosses in certain dungeons drop 50 myth tomes each, that would make the grind for animus a LOT better imo. It would cut the grind in half since most people do Brayflox speedruns for myth.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but you can't get alexandrite unless you have an animus, right? and considering they said you would be able to purchase myth gear with marks from hunts, i think youll be using these marks to purchase more alexandrite maps. so therefore you wont be able to get any alexandrite unless you have animus. but.i didnt read to new info out, so maybe im wrong.

And bam! Your Novus no longer costs 4 million gil. Instead, it costs 300k gil.

What server are you on and can I transfer there. Cause Tier III materia alone would cost the 4 mil gil.


Overall though I agree with OP. 13k Myth is the only thing gating me from doing Novus on my most played alt. The materia I've been crafting jewelry for me an 3 friends to spirit bond and hording 1-4s since it was announced.

The other day I decided to farm up atma again to get ready for nin. Until I spent the entire day without a single atma and got reminded of those 2-3 weeks I'd go without one and decided against getting nin atma lol

It's not *really* getting easier.

If you want your Alexandrites, it sounds like you have to purchase those instead of sands/oils/other gear with your hunt rewards. I guess it's nice to have that *option* if you really want it, but i'm probably going to get the other stuff.

With that said, Atma is the reason I will not be doing a 2nd animus/novus for another class until that changes. After my first novus, I'll be earning myth and can do the daily for alexandrites anyway, so it would make sense to slowly work on a 2nd one for another class. However, the atma grind is awful and requires a lot of effort outside of things I would already be doing.

And this is precisely where I'm getting at. Novus quest? Why not? It's an expert roulette every day no more than that. Animus book quest? Why not? A dungeon here, a fate there...but going back to kill level 2 flans with ruins for the next 50 hours, AGAIN...............ARGHFFFFF!? I want to grind for stuff, I really want to, and I DON'T mind a second Novus, but for the love of god SE...

I have't finished my Novus. I have 14 more alexandrites to go. But I'm not sure if you can do the roulette daily for the alexandrite after you finished your Novus? Even if you can, I'm not going to re-due the atma and animus quests anyway. Lol. Only sticking with one weapon just to see where the devs will go with the next set of quests for it. I enjoyed all the relic quests minus the FATES. I hated the FATES. HATED. So much.

Yes you can, I can confirm it because I already have my Novus. And I completely agree with you with the Atma horror story.

Putting accuracy on the weapon helps future proof it somewhat. Might be pointless now, but you know that in the future something will require higher accuracy and if you put acc on it you know you've got something ready for that day.

This basically....having more ACC than the one needed in turn 9 might be useless now, but it won't be useless in the future.

You did not understand what i said. To make it more simple to understand:

There is no point in adding a secondary Stat to a weapon, if it does not increase ANYTHING, such as Acc above the T9 cap is pointless. It does not matter if Crit does only increase 1% per ~15 Points, it is still more than ACC above currently highest needed value will do. At that point even Skillspeed would be more beneficial.

OP is basically speaking about the Gil Value he has to spend on a second/third Animus, so he want a "cheap" setup to make it possible... The thing is, Novus does not require a single Gil, unless people are really lazy. So the whole "gil talk", about the Novus Stage, is moot in first place.

With a market everything you do has value. Materia you created yourself could have been sold on the market. So that's money you could have had but do not. Which, in terms of a bunch of Tier IV materia is pretty large.

Secondary stats give really small contributions overall. It's not nothing, and there are a lot of them total on the novus, but we're not talking about the whole thing. We're talking about changing 11-17 (probably more with RNG and all) very expensive Tier IV crit and det into accuracy (which you may or may not value depending on current gear and desire to future proof yourself) or skill speed. If that's worth multiple millions of gil to get that little bit (we're probably talking a quarter of half of 1% of your total dps ... maybe) extra is up to you. But it by no means makes that weapon worthless.

This is a vertical progression game, the weapon won't last you forever anyhow.
