The Novus grind is getting easier...but the Animus...isn't...?

Secondary stats are not gimping a weapon. The base damage is what's important. I personally will be sacrificing crit because before coil2, I maxed crit as much as possible and didn't see much of a difference. So I will max determination only. And as for BiS, complete BiS includes upgraded weathered gear which may not have accuracy. And also, it may be very difficult to have a complete set of true BiS gear.

You did not understand what i said. To make it more simple to understand:

There is no point in adding a secondary Stat to a weapon, if it does not increase ANYTHING, such as Acc above the T9 cap is pointless. It does not matter if Crit does only increase 1% per ~15 Points, it is still more than ACC above currently highest needed value will do. At that point even Skillspeed would be more beneficial.

OP is basically speaking about the Gil Value he has to spend on a second/third Animus, so he want a "cheap" setup to make it possible... The thing is, Novus does not require a single Gil, unless people are really lazy. So the whole "gil talk", about the Novus Stage, is moot in first place.

With a market everything you do has value. Materia you created yourself could have been sold on the market. So that's money you could have had but do not. Which, in terms of a bunch of Tier IV materia is pretty large.

Secondary stats give really small contributions overall. It's not nothing, and there are a lot of them total on the novus, but we're not talking about the whole thing. We're talking about changing 11-17 (probably more with RNG and all) very expensive Tier IV crit and det into accuracy (which you may or may not value depending on current gear and desire to future proof yourself) or skill speed. If that's worth multiple millions of gil to get that little bit (we're probably talking a quarter of half of 1% of your total dps ... maybe) extra is up to you. But it by no means makes that weapon worthless.

This is a vertical progression game, the weapon won't last you forever anyhow.

I'm sorry I did not realize that T9 was the end all/be all for the game. Apparently no content in the future will need more stats than the cap for T9... it is now, literally, the pinnacle of challenge for FFXIV and gearing for beyond it is "pointless."

I don't really have a side in this discussion, but this argument for what to put on/not put on a weapon is as foolish as it is shortsighted.

Except of course the future content will come with future items with future accuracy on them already.

Also, I guess Nero doesn't know that there is gear out there that doesn't have accuracy. For instance, I have a lot of accuracy right now. But when I get more options for gear, I will optimize my stats better, just as I did with coil 1-5 gear before second coil came out.
