Or you could change some of your gear slot pieces to something without accuracy so that it has additional det/crit to make up the numbers without blowing 4mil

If you mean the Alexandrite from the Hunt, they are not free.
This is like saying that you get free myth gear by doing duty roulette

Not possible, unless you go with lower iLvL and not BiS, which means gimping yourself in general. Most BiS pieces do have Acc, even if you lack several points, you usually can gain those via food.

No matter how many tier IV you put in your novus, the T9 weapon will still be better.
If you want to go for BiS, its useless to burn tier IV materia on a novus, go for T9 instead.

And it will be the same with the next zodiac stage, there will always be another weapon with a better ilvl.

Yes, that is indeed true. Regardless though, if people go for Novus they should get the best possible options out of it, or they are wasting Time/Gil/whatever.
