    Final Fantasy 3

It is on sale on steam and it is like the only one I do not own..I mean i know Crystal Tower is from it but since I havent played it I cannot enjoy all the cameos. Is it good? And how difficult is it compared to the others?

I thought it was the most difficult FF, but I have not played I, II or XI. Mobs can kill you easily when you enter if a new area, there's a lot of grinding to do.

Personally I hated it. The job system is very clunky and it discourages you from trying out everything or frequently swapping between classes (unless you like grinding), the characters have almost no personality and the story is a very generic crystal tales. The only thing I save is the soundtrack, which is Uematsu's best work. Worst FF I've played.

Ugh I barely like turn based as it is (Which makes it hard to enjoy most FFs.) so the thought of grinding alloot makes me not wanna touch it.

I'd have to say it's the most grind heavy of the series. Especially frustrating as they job you choose changes the stats you gain when you level, and the jobs unlock at different points in the game. Meaning your character will never be the perfect Viking simply because you level up under other jobs up to that point.

The only stat that's affected by "what job you had when you leveled" was max hp (because it was calculated based on current vit). Everything else hard resets to static value. Therefore, as long as you spend 20 or so character levels as a high VIT class (just be that class during the battle you "ding") at the end of the game, you'll cap HP long before you hit level 99. The weakness and raising "job level" can be done by going to level 1 monsters and spamming defend.

I played through the Ouya version, which should be the same as Steam, and I didn't have to grind much by not wasting time on inferior jobs, which to be fair, most were. Occasionally, a dungeon would have a dangerous rare mob, but I only got killed by them maybe 4 times. The final boss can be beaten around level 40-50 as usual, it's only the secret boss, the Iron giant, where getting to 70+ is worth doing. To get through smoothly, start everyone as a red mage; then you can leave 1 as a perma-redmage to get the job 99 bonus (learn to love casting spells through weapons and dual wielding). Jobs worth switching to include Knight, Darknight, Geomancer, Whitemage/Devout, Summoner (not Evoker), Ninja, and Sage. The Master class is best for HP raising. While guides will say spam dragoon to defeat Garuda, I did just as well with a balanced party with better job levels (I tried both ways).

If you want to use a job, you have to level it from stratch and (my most hated mechanic) every time you change class you get a debuff on your stats (like weakness after being raised in this game) for a set number of encounters. That really put me off from experimenting with classes.

must be why. II was the most difficult ever, because if you didn't cheat, there was tons of hours of grind to be able to survive in the last bosses. Probably more grind than in etrian odyssey... (which has a LOT of grinding to get to max level)

I actually enjoy it, maybe because I love hard and complicate things (even if I found Final Fantasy 6 and 10 more hard than this..) I'll say buy it but if it's nor your type (Turn battle system change job exc exc) well, don't buy it at th end the decision it's your

I cheated with the select action/cancel/select again trick and the game was still a huge pain and felt so weird compared to the other games in the series.

I did not cheat. I suffered. a lot. Then I cheated. And my HP were just high enough to deal with the astonishingly low accuracy rate you get when you hit yourself for HP.
