FCs cannot buy multiple houses. People within the FC can make alts and with those alts make a new FC and then buy another house. Unless something has changed recently.

I think you're vernacular is pretty strong for someone that has some money and wants to stretch his legs a bit. Quit hating and go make some money. The target for personal housing is 2.38 apparently at the latest. So individual people need to cool their jets and let actual FCs have the plots instead of being selfish jerks. Eliminate all the idiots using FC houses as personal homes and there'd likely be a good deal more plots available.
I have nearly enough for a small it if I broke off my FC and solo leveled one of my own. I don't do it though because that's not what the system is there for. There's people who got themselves medium houses (I bet there's even someone who solo purchased a mansion). That's rediculous and takes plots from legit FCs.

The amount of effort a 1 man FC puts in order to obtain a FC house is going to be much more than a 2 man FC and so forth. Meaning if a 1 man FC puts in that much effort to get a large FC lot, he deserves it.
Just look at the amount of work required. A 500 man FC has 20,000 default vendor slots to use on the market board while a 1 man FC has 40 default vendor slots. If that large FC used just 1% of those slots towards FC housing, that is still 200 default vendor slots, 5 times that of a 1 man FC with default slots.
Legit FCs greater than 1 person, technically should be able to coordinate their fund generation methods far more efficiently than 1 person. You should not be pointing fingers at these individuals as your problem because if your legit FCs did any sort of coordination, they could have easily obtained a large plot way before any of the 1 man FCs could.
1 man FCs with just 40 default vendor slots had the biggest obstacle to leap while the larger the FC, the smaller the leap required.
I would go back to those houses and look very closely.I'll never stop stressing enough about how it was still way too early to allow FCs buy multiple houses, and why SE decided to do this is beyond my comprehension. I'd understand one house per area, but on my server there are free companies that own multiple houses not only in the same area, but even in the same wards.
Those may look like the same FC, but in reality they are not. People with large FCs created 2ndary FCs with houses for the other people. An FC can only have 1 house. I would love to have the chance to get a 2nd house but there is definitely a 1 hour per FC limit.
Hm, I guess this is what they did then. All I know is that there are people who do it. For example, among my friends there is one whose LS(FC?) owns two houses, medium and small, and they put them for rent to others. I may have seen different FCs with identical tags. Thanks for the clear up, it has been twisting my liver for months.I would go back to those houses and look very closely.

My fear is that they are underestimating how many fcs want to buy a house. The new wards that they add will fill up too quickly and some of us will still be left homeless.
As I understood the originally planned system, more wards would be automatically added as needed. That would have been a great system. As it is though, wards are being added way too slowly, not "as they're needed" at all.
Also, they aren't addressing issues of over population and under populations by adding more wards where more are needed compared to the less busy cities that don't need as much. On many worlds, Limsa is by far the most popular ward and people will be complaining a day after these new wards are open that yet again there are no free spots in the most popular area while the new wards in the other cities will probably be mostly empty.
I think Limsa needs at least 2 new wards on every server and again as regularly as needed. Not saying don't give Grid and Uldah some love too but if one is more needed than the others give it more so it can meet the demands placed upon it.
So is everyone just forgetting that they said when new wards are added they have to go through the same 90 day price decrease that happened when it first launched. So the most expensive servers will still have 100mil price tags when they go active.......
