Second, Is this a high ranking gathering leve, and is this one or many? If its high ranking, I'm not surprised that there's 40+ aggro mobs out there. Things tend to get more challenging as they get higher in rank. The placement might not be seen as a mistake at all.

Hate has changed, it is not as messed up as it was before. People just need to have enough common sense to go out and experiment with the abilities available. There's just a little bit of a learning curve involved. I feel that although it has improved, its going to need tweaking along with a lot of other things. It will probably never reach everyone's idea of perfect though, since its impossible to please everyone.

No comment on disconnecting or freezing, as I haven't had any issues with the game doing that.

In all of the years I've been playing mmos, I've never seen one come out with a major patch and not have to do some hot fixes later. Its like when you write a paper and don't notice any typos, but someone who has never seen the paper comes up behind you and sees it right away. A lot of things aren't going to be noticed by those working on the patches, and only brought to their attention once its live.
While its good to point out these mistakes to SE so they can get around to fixing them, its a bit shortsighted to expect perfection as soon as a major patch comes out.

Sorry, forgot about the mp comment. Yes, I was running out of mp faster when I first started casting healing spells after the patch. Seemed unbalanced until I adjusted my casting to not spam the same obscene amount of cure spells as I was. Now I'm not having too many issues with it. If you are, try for the time being resting for a bit between mob pulls. Mana regen might take a bit, but a least we have one now. :3
    1. im guessing you either haven't done leves yet or haven't done them in the past.
    2. its multiple gathering quests. obviously unintentional because new mob placements have also made some quests impossible to complete (and not cuz of mobs but cuz they built a camp ontop of a part that would lead to an instance?)
    3. hate algorithms are kinda messed up.....
    4. hot fix implies they fix something within a week. thats not how XIV works, it leaves a problem for months. So thats kinda diff than other mmos that are like "yeah theres a problem -fixes-"
    5. mp makes it so you have to /sit between battles if you try to solo high level meelee stuff, even with high level hp regen abilities like bloodletter. this is b o r i n g

hmmmm this really sticks out to me... They are making this for new player that didnt know the old system so they wouldn't be super biased like you and some other's are so that point is invalid... because what are you going to tell a new player that is oh wow this is a cool bonus at the end of a leve! you: "Oh no it's horrid should of seen it pre 1.18 when all there was to do was levegrind and behest! those exploitable rewards were amazing!"

for #1... I'm guessing you haven't done leves in a while that haven't exploited the loophole at Broken Water. Otherwise you would realize that for higher level players who did leves as the were intended to be done (for the good of eorzea) have not experienced any change in SP. In fact, there is a slight increase in the SP per leve reset. I have a sample of 13 r40 leves and 1 r30 leve as reference (my friend monitors his SP like a hawk lol).

#2... SE stated before that they wanted to team gatherers and fighters together. That is why fighters can share leves with gatherers... I can only assume this is for protection. Anyway, it sounds like you want gatherers to have a free pass to r50. It SHOULD get harder at higher levels. Learn to pick your battles and do the leves that are safe. Also start gathering outside of leves, whenever you see a node in your daily travels or other leves.

#3... please explain what you mean by this. Are you talking as a tank who has too easy of a job? as one who has too hard of a job? as a mage who keeps getting hate? At r21, I was main healing a tank who wasn't even using provoke or taunt and I only get hate once or twice over the span of 2 hours. At that level, hate is maybe too easy to control. Also, there aren't any complex algorithms involved... it is all 1 for 1. 1 damage = +1 hate. 1 hp cured = +1 hate. Just have the melee jobs equip Second Wind, Bloodbath, and other healing abilities to heal themselves more and you won't have many hate problems. It is a game, after all, and requires strategy and skill.

#4... I don't know what major problems you are talking about, and I'm sure many people would agree with me. There are a lot more people playing the game than checking this forum, and those who are unhappy always have the loudest voice. Please don't jump on the bandwagon and say that there are mysterious "errors" out there without being specific. A lot of times people are vague because they know if they say it clearly, they know that others will easily shoot it down.

#5... solo as a mage is difficult for extended periods of time, but in a short time a mage can spam all mp and be pretty impressive. Is that not a fair trade-off? Is it not realistic to the fantasy world? Mages have always been known to run out of spells. It is their one downfall. The upside is that they can do a lot in a short amount of time before spells run out. As for a mage that is in a party, it isn't so bad. tank jobs have a much easier job of curing themselves [than in FFXI], so mages do have help healing. To this day, every time people talk about MP problems, I do not understand because I do not experience these problems. I attribute that to my mp management skills. Mage is an intellectual profession and a lot of the fun in the job comes from assessing the situation, managing resources, and making the smart choices.

I'm not saying you aren't smart, or don't know the hate algorithms, or don't do leves the right way, or anything like that. I'm just saying that you are not adapting. The world is an ever changing place, and so is Eorzea. Those who live on are remembered, and those who fall by the wayside are forgotten. Sometimes change is bad, sometimes it is good, but it will come none the less. Living and playing through it will make you a better person, a better character, and most importantly, it will give you the feeling that the game is something bigger, something evolving, something magical... and in the end, that feeling of awe and shock... that way of remembering a game, is what seperates a good game from a bad one. (sorry that last bit was off topic).
