    A wonderful (probably bad) idea for the...

    Community.

    So I had an idea. Could very well be bad. BUT.... I'm gonna share it anyways. (with that warning, I hope people still atleast read it all, even if for some laughs)

    So everyone says the game has lost a lot of working with the community, doing things together, helping people out and whatnot. One of the arguments I saw was on the fact that because everyone can be any job and be the best at it that it removes the need to rely on others.

    So my idea would be, to bring back relying on friends and server mates, would be to lock out dol/doh classes, so that every character can be any combat class they want, but only able to pick 1 dol and 1 doh
    Job. Think about it. Say we can only pick one dol and doh class per character.

    Me, I'd go fisher and culinarian(sp?)

    I believe doing his would not only allow for people to become more social in the game, befriending strangers and working together, but could also (even slightly) balance out some of the mb under cutting and bring prices to a more reasonable standing.

    As a culinary person, and a fisher I could make some things, but would need to befriend people and rely on others to provide the other supplies.

    It\\\\'s similar to the real world. You can\\\\'t do everything yourself.

    A genuine question.

    How would you propose compensating people who took the time to raise all crafting and gathering classes to 50, spending hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of gil on outfitting their characters with fully materia'd gear?

    Lets not forget Artisan Tools and how on earth without cross-class abilities from several classes would we ever HQ some items?

    Not sure lol. Hence why I said (probably bad) XD

    Didn't think much of implementation so much as just general idea for the situation

    It was just a funny little idea popped into my head.

    Like I said. Just a random idea. Could have been possible at launch, but as a few have said, with both cross. Class skills and items/money put into classes already it would. Never happen. =p

    But hey, I can imagine.

    this wouldn't help at all. the only thing this would lead to was people using their alts(that they are already paying for) and using those alts for the other crafts and gathering classes. personally, i am already paying for 40 characters and 8 on my one server.

    the only difference between me having all my crafts on one class instead of one on each alt is the fact when someone comes to me they know my main as i am attached to it and know i'm trustworthy. the other difference is that when i have all classes on my main i only take up one character spot on the already filled server instead of taking up 8 slots due to the alts.

    i think it's a stupid idea for them to consider, but with the group in charge they will probably do it. that's part of the reason i make a new alt each time i see an opening on my server. it will allow me to have them there when they do decide this is an option. sure, it keeps more people from joining the server, but i'm not going to get punished over another bad decision.

    edit: if you really want to slow down the number of people that have every class leveled then all you need to do is slow down leveling again. the super speed of leveling yoshi put in game is the reason people have everything capped and will do so again not long after any cap increase. this blame goes directly to the director in charge. slow down leveling speed and when the cap raises the number of people with everything capped will decrease also.

    Oh got one for this! Link skills, you hook up with someone of appropriate skill level in another craft to combine powers to help make he stuff =D more community social funness
