Original 2-star recipes, Secondary Material Reduction Please.

At launch, the given reason for the nine-fold increase in secondary mats such as hardened sap was to limit the amount of iLVL 70 gear in the market. Since we're 40 iLVLs over this, there's no reason for us to spend 22,500 seals to make one two-star BASE item, which is only used for a small handful of purposes these days.

It shouldn't be a master pain to get master book acquisition, in short. The grind for the tools, spiritbonding for materia for max melds and time consumed making the items is painful enough.

"You don't stop playing when you get old, you get old when you stop playing!"

Punctuation is your friend. It deliniates the difference between "Let's eat, Grandma!" and "Let's eat Grandma!"

Meanwhile I do the 8 Delivery and 3 Provision Missions every day to get a good amount of seals and buy a few mats each day~
Gonna end up buying a lot of the mats on the market boards ~_~

Why shouldn't it? Artisan Tools are still very much a staple of crafting. Very few people are bothering with Supra at the moment. They are still very relevant and should not be any easier to obtain... yet. In the future, sure. But not now.

Oh btw they did add something to help

    Desynthesis

just broke down Artisan Spectacles x25
Got 3 NQ Rose Gold Ingots but one was also HQ!
Also got a ton of Rose gold nuggets, 1 clear demimat III, 3 master demimats and 3 field demimat IIIs, a few spectacles exploded of course ]:

So yea, Desynth can get you those HQ mats needed for books, its not guaranteed and its not common but it can. So right now I've saved 9 peacock ores and ill be desynthing more.
You can also desynth Labyrinth (CT1) gear and Darklight gear (bunch from dungeons), which CAN yield HQ 2star mats.

Where you getting 25 Artisan Spectacles? You turning in those 5 HQ "philo mat" items to get one? Or can you buy the artisan spectacles from an NPC after you've already earned one?

This is a valid point. The OP is having trouble getting the items needed for his Master Book. Artisan's Spectacles can only be obtained by trading in items that you can only craft AFTER you have your Master's Book. Therefore, the OP will not be able to desynth Artisan's Spectacles for Rose Gold Ingots, HQ or not.

HOWEVER, Desynthesis can still get him those items: Darklight gear, dropped from Lost City, Halatali (Hard), and Brayflox (Hard) can desynth into the items you need. Leather Darklight items can provide Hard Hippogryph Leather, accessories can provide Rose Gold ingots, etc. Goldsmithing items are the easiest to come by since all three runs have chests that drop accessories 100% of the time, and most folks that sign up for Brayflox are in it for the Myth and Soldiery and will frequently skip the chests that drop accessories, leaving you free to linger after the run and grab them yourself. :3

Note, that it still won't be fast to acquire them this way. I've desynthed several dozen Darklight accessories by now and wound up with a net of around ten Rose Gold Ingots, only three of which are HQ. Still, this can be useful to do alongside building up Grand Company points to buy your crafting items. Also, it won't work for Blacksmith or Alchemist, as I don't believe any books or weapons drop in any of those runs; those crafts will have to look elsewhere for desynth freebies.

The grind behind the 75 tools called Desynthesis has really put a new level of Madness to the Game with this patch. Going through the lower levels was fine and even Level 55 items were fine since only unspoiled nodes were included. But the nine hardened saps I need for ONE iLevel 70 item just to craft and destroy it, are killing me.

Keep in mind there is a chance to destroy it and you have a roughly 10% chance for getting a Demimateria. My carpenter can't use much of dungeon drops so this is no vital option. What I started is crafting ilevel 55 items to return them to the GC. Besides this, I spend GIL, GIL and even more GIL for the sap. And by now, I already know that my next step are Carbuncle chairs which need 500 Myth mats from Mor Dhona. I like my DOH but this is starting to take more time than I can spend for them. When the Game came out, it was perfectly possible to run dungeons, Coil, Primals and to have the crafters on spot. Now I must choose because both isn't possible although I play 30-40 hours per week for sure.

What I don't understand is that these mats could be exchanged for myths but this was removed (in 2.3 I believe?)...
What kind of backward thinking is this?
