Cristal Tower 2 useless?

Hey there,

I was really excited that we were getting the second part of the Crystal tower in patch 2.3. But after the live letter XV from E3, i was actually disappointed.


Q: What's the drop rate for the unidentified Allagan tomestone, the sands of time, and oil of time?
A: As I mentioned during the previous Letter from the Producer LIVE, they will not all be dropping at the same time. We'll add them gradually as we progress through patches. We're planning to have unidentified Allagan tomestones drop first, and the drop rate will be about 30%. We'll be making adjustments based on the clear rate of the Second Coil of Bahamut and everyone's average item level.

So basically there is no incentive (for your main job) for someone with an animus weapon and fully soldiery equipped to go in the crystal tower until they add the sand of time in the loot table.

I'm sure some of the i100 gear will have better secondary stats than soldiery items, and the weathered masterwork may as well.

I doubt there are really that many people out there with full soldier/animus. At least percentage wise. Also, certain CT pieces of gear may be superior to their weathered counterparts. We will have to see. I wouldn't get too upset until we actually see the stuff.

It wouldn't be balanced if they just added sand/oils now, they are pretty much doing the same thing they did with the first CT and the furniture piece imo. They will wait about 6-8 weeks before adding sand/oils because by that time people focused on one job will have obtained their gear set and then they can choose to do Tower for the sand/oils instead of farming for the gear.

In an interview Yoshi said that i80 was a likely requirement to enter.
90% spiritbond gear would then only be possible if you include 3star crafted gear in that, so no... "everyone" will not show up in 90% spiritbond gear... Not for a long time.

Doesn't stop people from changing into their spirit bond gear once they are inside.

Wouldn't it be possible to just set the mob's exp to 1 so that people don't do this?
