Are there any other deaf / mute players on Coeurl? (Furrys&Bronys say hi too!)

Looking to see if there are any other players around the server, and how you deal with possible raiding and being asked to get on voice programs.

It's scary for me and I usually end up making some kind of dumb excuse... But im a good player so I know this wont work forever.

    Hi Djarums!

I personally do not talk on voice programs either, but I do listen. So don't feel pressured into it! If you're a good player like you say, and you're nice to people, they should respect your choice. If they don't respect it, you need to find new friends!
It may be harder to raid though, you'll have to be more prepared for the fights you face because communication will be slower or not possible. Doing that should earn you even more respect though.
And type! Always always type! Communication is still very important! Making macros for very important things with sound effects will help too.

Esira is the best white mage I know on server, so it can be done! You just need to be on top of your game is all, and prepared with sound macros to let your teammates know when you have a situation pop up that you would normally communicate over the voice program. You will also need to leave good impressions on people so that when they are thinking about creating new raid groups your name comes up often. For now, I'd work on creating a very solid reputation for yourself on the server, and in time, people won't really care that you don't use voice programs. Good luck!

I never had this come up in any of my previous guilds but unless there is some very specific thing that can't be communicated by voice there's really no reason you can't be accommodated. I raided a long time in World of Warcraft and I would have traded plenty of my raiders for someone who didn't use voice chat but understood the fight and was willing to work with me and pay attention to typed things.

I can't quite tell from the thread if you're saying you're deaf, but if you don't have some actual reason you to not use voice chat then I'm not sure what to say. It's a useful tool for raiding and socializing. You would have to create enough good will the override whatever those people think the benefit of voice chat is.
