I have this same issue. My old 28inch hd telefunken tv runs the game without any issues on my ps4, but my new 48inch uhd hiesens uled tv has this annoying flicker when i move my character. It's so bad i can't play it on this tv. I only experience it in FFXIV and ESO. All my other games seem to be running just fine on this new tv. I tried all the fixes suggested out there on the interwebs. Adjusted my tv settings. Changed my pa4 resolution settings. Changed to standard graphics instead of max on the game. It's really upsetting cause we bought this tv for gaming on consoles now one of my favorite most played games is messing up on it to the point of being unplayable.

There are shadow settings in the FFXIV graphics settings... Shadow flickering is caused by the "shadow cascading" and "shadow softening" effects. It's always behaved this way.

Any info about this bug SE? Game looks horrible with this bug. It appears only in 3.0 areas. Using LOD (low detail on distant objects) fixes this bug but makes things worse visually. Can you give us any official feedback about this issue? Is it on track for fixing?

I've been having this issue as well. On top of that though since the last update I've been getting artifacts flashing and flickering randomly. And my fps has dropped into garbage numbers again. I'm getting an average of 15-17 fps at pretty much all times. I had 20-22 before the last update.

I also have this issues (AMD R9 380). No FPS issues, but without LOD enabled my shadows flicker for awhile. If I stay still or sometimes tab back and forth they clean up.

I've been having this issue since the last update, tried reinstall graphic card driver and got my laptop refreshed twice, tried on monitor also but nothing worked. And I also having this issue on my PS4(since the last update), so I don't think this issue is caused by my hardware. Really need some official feedback, SE.

i7 4790k/gtx 980 My shadows take a minute or two to load in for certain areas, they start off jagged or choppy but clean up after a bit, I do have an issue with some textures "glossing"? Not really sure how to describe it, but I took an SS during a particularly bad c/s.

I wanna confirm that, unlike DSR, getting a higher resolution monitor helps.

1440p but preferebly 4K.

It doesn't help AT ALL. I play on a 1440p and I have this shadow problem. On 4K monitor is still the same. Only one thing fixes it and this is enable LOD. But this is not a real fix just a dirty ugly cover-up
