Something Positive

So I've hung around the forums reading and enjoying it for the most part, Aside from the negativity towards the community so figured why not get something positive going.
It is only through our actions that we can change what we do not like.
The guys in the Free Company that I'm in (OTH) are awesome as a whole but thats not even the point of this.
Just the general help that happens at times. Last night I was running through a quest, the one with the guy in the white robes and my health was getting low through one of the trials. Some random person decided to stop what they were doing and keep my health up till I had completed it. Afterwards we both exchanged waves and thumbs up and went on our way.
No he didn't have too do that, but it was that random act that made me just stop and go. "Man this is Fun"
So what are some of everyone your favorite moments when you helped someone out of kindness or someone helped you out when they didn't need to?

It's fun to do. Generally if I see anybody in combat (especially if they're lower level) I'll heal them back to full and give them regen before continuing on my way. If someone's dead I'll raise them. I've seen a bunch of other white mages on my server act similarly and it's awesome!

I love doing this, my only issue is 9 times out of 10, if I start to cast Res, they release and I feel sad that I couldn't help them.

I went out to mine some Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil one day, and when I got out there I saw a level 8 character laying dead by the sprite enemies in the area. My WHM isn't leveled up too much, but it did have Raise so i switched to WHM. Since I was out in the open world I had to wait for that silly GCD to fill up before I could raise him. So I RP'ed a bit lol. I slowly walked over to his dead body and wept, then knelt and prayed. I spaced the emotes out so it timed perfectly for after the prayer my Raise was up and I brought him back to life then healed him to full HP and gave him a Protect.

He started spamming happy emotes to me and I smiled back at him. About 30 seconds after I Raised him I got a tell from someone else saying "You are so cool my friend just started the game and is playing on PS4 with no keyboard. I just logged into his party chat and he told me he had been laying there dead for 15 mins with people just running by him. He accidentally backed out of the return to homepoint screen and had no idea how to revive himself. Then you just randomly walked up and saved him. You are his hero for the day!!"

I felt awesome. It really made my day to help someone out in genuine need of it.

I told to him that it was nice to meet him and be a little more careful so you don't die again! I think he hit the /laugh emote about 10 times haha.

I wish this thread had gained more traction, so I have another story to share.

Yesterday, my two FC mates and I stumbled across White Joker in Central Shroud after coming out of a dungeon. We were leveling alt classes, so we had to wait around for everything to cool down before we could fight him. Meanwhile, this mid-20 Arcanist wanders by, curious of what's happening. Fortunately, they don't aggro White Joker and we invite them to the party for the fight. We take him down, bow to each other, and go our separate ways. It was fun.

Yesterday, my two FC mates and I stumbled across White Joker in Central Shroud after coming out of a dungeon. I actually have a pretty funny one involving the new hunt system as well. The other day I was in Bentbranch Meadows finally getting the ability to participate in chocobo raising, when all of a sudden someone shouts "What the heck is a level 50 mob doing next to Tam-Tara Deepcroft?!"

...naturally I alert my FC and get a party together to down the hunt mob, but of course the shout alerted all of the linkshells as well so the zerg of about 150 people start bashing through Central Shroud.

When we get to Forneus (A rank...yay!), there is about 150-200 people there and the little sprout (we have been calling the new players with the growing plant icon sprouts lol) was like, "Holy crap, are these things important?" No one really answered him, because we were all waiting for that inevitable pull to try and get full credit by smashing on it as quick as possible.

The little sprout says, "Don't worry guys, I got this." He runs up and pulls the mob. Forneus swipes his scythe at the poor sap once and he drops dead instantly. My entire mumble erupted into laughter, which I'm sure was echoed throughout the community that was there. It was hilarious. The sprout says, "Ugh, a little help please?" We zerg the hunt, my healer throws a raise to him and we went about our way.

Such a brave noob. He will undoubtedly be a superb Warrior of Light!

Haha Awesome stories Guys! Lots of healers helping out all us squishy folk (and some not so squishy).

So Got another one that sorta involves a healer, running through Central Shroud he apparently pulled way more than he could handle and I saw a WHM running with a group of mobs at his heels lol. I have to admit it was something out of a Benny Hill skit "cue music" so I ran over and did ring of thorns a couple times and cleared them all away for him. He said "thanks" I said "no problem glad to help" and we both went about our merry way.

I'll share a story too It's nice to see good things for once!

While working on my book for my animus on bard, I had been waiting on a fate for about an hour when a random summoner showed up to wait with me. He asked how long I'd been there and then we just killed other mobs out of boredom. However I then had to afk to go and get the food I was cooking... when I heard system sounds coming from my pc over and over. The fate was up and the summoner was spamming me with whispers to return before he started We killed it together and I finished my book (and ate my dinner happily afterwards)

I generally try to stop and heal people when I'm running around and see someone who needs a heal.. I have had it backfire on me as well though, with people suddenly pulling far more mobs then they can handle and expect me to heal them through it.

Back in FFXI I was helping a group in Valkurm who had lost their white mage, keeping them healed while they waited for the new white mage to arrive (I was a high level white mage at the time). Other people saw it and thought I was power levelling that group, and I got several tells from people asking if I could power level them as well. I declined, and after a while I get a tell from a GM saying I had been reported and he was investigating. Turned out 1 of the people I refused to power level had reported me, go figure
