War Cross Classes... Still can't make up my mind.

Been War since launch. I generally use Provoke, Convalescence, Flash as constants. What I can't decide on is which two other traits I like most.

I used to use Mantra in combination with Convalescence to get an extra 5% healing, but seemed kind a moot.

I used to use Awareness, but I find myself just using it randomly ontop of other defensive buffs, never really knowing when it's actually doing something.

I've been leaning more towards Internal Release, since crits are nice for self healing traits, and works well with Berserk/Bloodbath.

I started to use featherfoot, but rarely see it proc. I really don't understand evasion in this game, since there's no stat to view/enhance. Though since it saved me from a plummet randomly it earned lil more respect from me.

As for Second Wind, I've never seen it heal for more than Inner Beast, and seemed like a wasted slot.

Anyone have a set 5 they swear by? Cause lately I've just been playing around with them randomly with mixed results.

Honestly your set of five at least for me depends on what I'm doing. For example if there's a fight where there's alot of aoe healing going down and the heals need every bit of help they can get, ie ex primals and turn 6 and turn 9 for example Mantra might go on my bar. For a fight where I'm not in a position to mantra or there's not alot of aoe healing, so for example twintania, I'll swap it out for second wind. Thats just one of my hypothetical.

Anyway good cross class skills are

Provoke = must have, there should be no reason why this isn't on your bar at all times.
Colvanesnce= very good should have it on your bar at all times. Healers get into pinches and this can actaully help save you.
Flash = ultility depends on what type of player you are, if you can do without a circle aoe aggro move other than steel cyclone then you can consider swaping this skill out for something else. I keep it on the bar personally at all times since there's alot of tricks I can do with flash to obtain quick aggro when I need it.
Internal release = can go to increasing your dps and trust me more statics out there are turning their wars into war dps on high end content so consider this skill.
Mantra = useful for aoe heal heavy fights.

Since I fight in coil and ex primals alot this is what I use.

Anyway just my two cents pretty sure one person in this thread is going to tell you a different set they use, the thing is there's no one size fits all cross class skill set for warrior.

No Featherfoot for you eh? I find it's most useful doing low level dungeons when your doing giant pulls. Never bothered with Haymaker.. I'm assuming it wouldn't work on bosses anyhow.

Personally I just wish we had Dragoon's Keen Flurry, Invigorate. I'd use the hell out of those... and upgrading parry sounds more useful than upgrading a stat we can't see.

I find Awareness sometimes seems to proc during Titan Ex stomps... another ability that's better when tanking LOTS of things or taking repetitive damage.

Is Second Wind not useful? I just got a spot for it, but I haven't put it through its paces.

ALways found Second wind more viable for DPS than anything else. IT heals for about as much as inner beast, and is modified the same way.. by increasing your attack power.

Second Wind isn't that great, because even though the Heal is pretty big it is often wasted. Due to the fact that your healers are dumping heals on you anyways.

You will probably just overheal or cause an overheal. + a lot of times if you are trying to save it for the right moment its being wasted.

It's really not that great for tanks.

    P.S. Featherfoot is p good.

Provoke is obvious, it's a must have. That's solid.
I macro'd Convalescence and Mantra together so it's essentially a 25% boost every time (they share the same CD).
Flash is pretty useless for Warriors imo. Infuriate + Berserk + Steel Cyclone = all the flashes and then some.
Then next ones I use are Internal Release (because it works well with Wrath stacks) and Second Wind (because WAR self-healing adds up over time and it's a decent amount).

Awareness is great for large pulls where you're likely to take a few crits (Brayflox etc.) and I guess you could pop it when you know a big hit is coming and the possibility of it critting would kill you (Death Sentence!!). Anyway, yeah. That's my take at least.

I have a friend who plays WAR for T6 and 7 and he started using Awareness because those slugs in T6 can hit hard and if they crit, it's GG. It's more of a "better safe then sorry" cool down then anything

Provoke is a no brainer as for the rest I agree with some of what was said. I typically use internal release, mantra, featherfoot anf convalescence. Flash can be marginally useful in specific/rare situations but pretty worthless overall.

Provoke and Convalescence are the big ones. Others not really required but good on some situations.
