    Elements and their value

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know how elements really work? (The stats points we allocate), I havn't found any up to date source or guide on how exactly these improve spells. For example my primary concern is that Levinbolt is lighting damage however I'm unsure if it would be better to change my elements to accomdiate THM's Umbral skills as I use both Conjurer and THM.

Do elements really make a significant difference at all?

I.e. Does higher wind attribute effect Aero damage? how much by?
Does higher water attribute effect Poision damage or duration?

It appears at the moment they do not. If so it is minimul. As far as I can tell they are broken in a similar manner to the other stats. I am expecting, from what I have read, for this to change in 1.19 or 1.20.

Thanks, thats a most interesting side effect, seams instead of focusing on two elements, I'm best off changing my spells dependant on the enemies' strengths and weaknesses... atleast for the time being

I know this much for stats...

If your a DoL, and you want a specific shard you need to have that element boosted in your stat allotment.
Most monster weaponskills are dark based. So having Blizzzard, Water, Earth points allocated high you can reduce some of the weapon skill damage you'll take. If you tend to use light based magic, i.e. Dia or Banish (Yes I know THM Spells), change point allotment to Wind, Fire, and Aero, you'll have slightly better damage and less resist rates.

As far as helping the individual spells, I have yet to see points, nor the weapons that give +% to increase your over all damage.

On a completely somewhat unrelated note we were fighting nest commander, doing battle regimens, I was closing the Regimen with Profundity II and Fire II, nukes ranged from 1.5k dmg - 2.5k dmg. No that's not a typo, I said 1,500-2,500 damage. So give that a try, but you'll need 2 separate melee weapon skills, then you'll have to go last.

Thanks for the suggestion and further information, Technolust; currently put my elemental points in Ice and Water to reduce the damage a little . Not actually done a battle regimen yet, probably a bit early being level 19 though its something i'll try.

This is really the best course of action right now. Set up a nuke along with the elemental DoT spell of the same element, it makes a noticeable difference in damage, especially if it's what the enemy is weak to. Right now I just have my elements set up to take advantage of food for the most part.
